This is a standard type of power cord and not unique to a game console. Any AC cable that will fit in to the connector is fine, even if it powered your razor

I'm not sure that is entirely true. I actually lost my cord, and I'm using a different cord from who knows what that was in a box I had. It's the same shape and works but it's not snug so if the console or cord moves at all, the cord comes out of the socket. I don't know if the cord I have is abnormally small or if the Xbox cord is slightly bigger than normal but it's not entirely true that any cord with a matching shape will work.

Microsoft and Sony didn't collude to create a slightly modified version of an internationally standardized power cord. The cord you are using probably just isn't very good, which is the same risk you run ordering this one.

Not sure where you get collusion from, and you just agreed with me that even though it's a standard not every cord might work, the likely hood that your razor is using a better cord than this one on Amazon is low. The cable connector does not also specify cable gauge or material. Your razor could very well use a gauge that is too small. Im giving a heads up that simply because it's the same connector doesn't mean it's going to work like you say.

Actually, IEC does.
The cable has to be rated for 10amps on a North American cord.
Read IEC 60320
NEC does something similar for outlets, but not power cables. Any outlet that has a 20A interface in the US is required to have a cable and breaker feeding it that can supply 20A/110V.

I think you miss read the spec, look at again at the links you specified. Its an UPTO 10amps not that it has to be 10 amps. Just looking at mouser shows various north american plugs with a 7 amp rating. https://www.mouser.com/c/wire-cab...t%20rating
In general, the cord may work but its not a sure bet.

I said "in North America". You didnt filter for North America and were looking at global. Here is the filtered link. Tell me which one isn't 10A? https://www.mouser.com/c/wire-cab...ort=region
IEC is technically an EU standard(compliance is required for a CE stamp)
The ones you saw at lower ampacity were not for North American outlets.
Every one on mouser for "North America" is an 18AWG, which is rated at 10A

Did you look at the 7 amp north American cords? There were quite a few, I think you may have missed them because they are there and listed as north american. Here's a link directly to one from those search results:
Did you notice it doesn't have a CE sticker and isn't IEC compliant?
Did you notice that proves my point that just because it used that connector doesn't mean it's all the same?
Sure.
I'll grant you that fact. But any legitimate cable from a ISO certified manufacturer will be fine. Which was my point. If you go buy a cable at walmart that fits that plug, it will work.
But yes, you are right. If you order chinese junk without certification, they may have used thinner wire.

It is an IEC 320 C7 Non-Polarized AC power cord.

Though, it looks like there is a C7/8A cord sets which are slightly longer, which might explain your issue.

here's the spec sheet: https://www.mouser.com/datasheet/...171828.pdf
Notice the 7 amp rating at 125v on the page.
