CMR drives are better if you're doing a lot of read/write activity and can be found for not too much more money. If you already have a large library and are moving items to the drive not too frequently, and it's for read activity (I.e. Plex streaming) this would be okay. I wouldn't use it though if you use radarr/ sonarr and constantly have movies upgrading quality as that gets write intensive and isn't great for this drive.

13.75/Tb is pretty good.

SMR isn't the best, but if you are using this for storage (not game storage) it should be fine.

It had to be from Newegg. Pass. They ship internal drives so poorly. I don't trust them to protect it.

SMR gets really rough. I've seen write as low as like 10-20MBPS on mine. Wasn't aware it was SMR when I bought it. Returned it within a week.

That sounds like user error. Try rclone or something that is multi-threaded.

You realize that when the header is parked in a HDD it can withstand up to 200G's of force. The UPS driver could toss your box at a wall full force and it would most likely be fine.

Did that come from Bullsh*t_statistics.com? I'm in IT and have had multiple people destroy harddrives by accidentally dropping them while transporting. That hardly hit your B.S. 200G's of force claim you pulled out of your ass. You do realize the difference between solid state and mechanical, correct? I ask because I have a sinking suspicion you were reading info off of an SSD website and confused it with mechanical.
