Costco ended their Amex partnership in 2016. It's been Visa ever since
The website also accepts Mastercard and Discover. I usually use my Double Cash for online orders.

Purchasing standard geek squad protection through Best Buy which I know is at least $250 for my tv. This will work right?
If you're going to be spending $200+ for just the tv i would consider just getting total tech subscription for $200, it'll cover your tv and anything else you buy at best buy for a year and then some if you continue the subcription

The last time I went into the Best Buy to buy gift cards, I was told only 3 gift cards.

So I was forced to buy 2x $100 and 1x $50 Amazon gift cards.
If smaller amounts GC, We should be able to buy in multiple transactions to make it $250 and still qualify?

Just a reminder that you can no longer apply GC balance onto S&S orders in case this matters to you.

When did this start? It's always been a PITA to do it, but I could.

I hate S&S

Buying gift cards from stores is a definite mishap waiting to happen. Upon the scam happening, all the savings from years and years ago gets blown away by making one bad purchase. Store will disclaim any responsibility and only way to get a partial recovery is through small claims court.

I am assuming eGift cards won't work, right?

Physical in store is best option. Apple or Amazon.

I'd wait for the $10 Best Buy GC bonus with every $100 apple Gc promo. Likely happen around BF.

Does that mean I can purchase a physical amazon gift card from best buy online and it would count?
Some people did this last time.
Some people had issues where the gift cards weren't activated when they tried to use them.

They used to sell gas cards. Those will probably be the ones besides Amazon to go fast.

Blue Cash Preferred gets these. Annual fee = $95, but the groceries rewards = 6%. If you spend at least $2000 on groceries each year, it's more than worth it.
This is not a good approach to figuring out the break point. It assumes that the alternative is to spend on groceries with NO rewards, which is not the case. There exists a free AMEX card that gives you 3%. There exist other rewards ecosystems where the points are worth more than straight cash back.

I'm not saying this card doesn't have value, but that is NOT the break point. If you ONLY spend $2000 on groceries, you'd be better off with the regular blue cash everyday giving you 3% back (e.g., $60 back). The preferred will get you an ADDITIONAL $60 back but it will cost you $95, that's not efficient.
