FYI, this board DOES NOT have a BIOS Flashback. If you are planning on getting this bundle to put a 13th gen Processor in it and sell the 12700K (like i did) you will need to use the 12700k to update the BIOS.
As for performance, Im using 3200 mhz DDR4 and im getting the same cinebench r23 score as a 13600k (what I put in this board) with DDR5 5600 ram.

There's at least 8 still available at the Dallas, TX location. (Thanks to one of the poster on here)

The website said OOS but I drove there this morning and picked it up 15 mins ago.

Damn and I thought I waited long to upgrade my 560ti to 970. Going from 4790k to this, my 4790k came with a free motherboard as well when microcenter had a misprint advertising a free motherboard, they ended up honoring the deal to a lot of people. Has anyone moved their 212 evo cooler over to a lga1700 bracket yet? I only see brackets for the newer models, think im gonna have to buy a new cooler now as well
The board has holes for 1200/1700 spacing. So long as your bracket supports the 1200, you should be ok. The evo 212 is barely adequate for this cpu, and no overclocking.

Southern Cal gang, listen up. I'm at Tustin branch right now and both the 12700k and Z690 are in stock. I counted nine Z690 on the shelf. And there are tons of 12700k.

So if you want this combo, it is available. Don't trust the "out-of-stock" status on the MC website.

Edit: I was blind. There's actually a whole other section for the Z690. So the total count on the shelf should be about 30+.
Thanks so much for this! I was able to grab these at Tustin store at 10AM, even though website shows OOS. There is still more left, could be worth a try for those living nearby

Anytime! I was exactly in your shoes and so worried that I'd missed out just because the website has been consistently saying "sold out."

A lot of mismanagement really. For example a couple of days ago, one guy found a glitch on the MC website that he was able to add another motherboard for $0.01. This glitch was caught real fast though.

There is a review shows that 13th gen can be up to 48% slower than 12th gen CPU with ASUS Z690 board.

"Brought to our attention by a reader, the Core i7-13700KF was found to be an unbelievable 48% slower than its predecessor on the Z690-Plus WiFi D4. Scoring just cores 32.37 FPS in the 3DMark TimeSpy CPU test, it falls short of the 12700K by a margin of 37%."

Finally upgraded my i7-4790k to this one, along with 64GB Patriot Viper Steel 3600, 1TB Kingston fury renegade, and the cheap amchoice 360mm aio cooler. Hopefully it won't leak.

I managed to secure a reservation a few hours ago when it briefly came back in stock in north Jersey. Worth the 1 hour drive. Can anyone recommend a good air cooler for this combo? I plan on using them in my first gaming rig paired with a mid-tower and RTX 3080 (if those prices ever come down). Possibly this case: https://www.newegg.com/white-frac...6811352151

Fuma 2 rev b no good. Doesn't clear the vrm heatsinks. Previous reports indicate the ak620 will work.

I'm using the thermalright PA120, ~$40 on amz. The pa120se also works, a bit cheaper.

This is old news. If the Intel Management Engine is updated the performance returns. I can confirm as i ran Cinebench r23 and scored the same as a 13600k with ddr5 5600 on a z790 mobo.

I've decided to forego my reservation in Cambridge MA scheduled for Saturday. I'll wait a couple weeks to see if there will be new combos with 13700k or AM5/X3D on Black Friday. My $25 coupon expires on the 27th. I like to see my new build viable for a generation or two into the future and AM5/X3D is the platform for now. Good luck to all.

Am5 has the free ddr5 ram. Picked mine up at lunch and it's the latest release from gskill cl30 6000 flare x5. Even gskill doesn't have it on their website. It's a Hynix b die

Good to know. I saw the article few days ago but I guess that's old enough in the tech world.
