The "I Hate Christmas" thread!

*stands up*

Hi, my name is Al and I hate Christmas!

It has nothing to do with religion or my upbringing. I do not come from a long line of Christmas haters or tree huggers that hate to see all the dead trees lined up along the streets in the weeks that follow.

I did not have a bad Christmas experience as a child that may have scarred me for life. Didn't walk in and discover that Santa was really daddy. Never ate a bad turkey or been fondled by an elf.

Just don't care for Christmas.

The stupid stores start putting out the decor too early, the songs stick in your head, everyone wants more gifts, no one is ever happy with them, and the people that re-gift are too stupid to look INSIDE the damned SnackMaster to make sure there isn't a card in there, too, thus allowing the second-round receiver to know just how much thought you actually put into the gift. Annoyed

And lastly, I really really hate bellringers. I give 'em money and have no problem with that. But seriously, when you weigh 280 lbs, wearing a freakin' bright red suit and a cheesy beard and you're blocking the entrance to whatever store I'm trying to enter .... do you really need a bell to make me notice you???? Huh

I hate Halloween. It has to be the most stupid inane reason to have a holiday. It borders on winter and most kids are unlucky enough to live in snow country which requires wearing a jacket over their costume anyway. Are they seriously trying to scare anyone by wearing a fairy princess costume or having a baby dressed in a pea pod? And the begging! What the hell is that about? Saying Trick Or Treat should not exonerate a kid from being arrested for extortion! That little blurb is probably what starts most on their seedy tracts in life. Future inmates one and all! The fact that their parents will turn around and rob them of candy while they sleep just adds to the aura of duplicity. Can we talk about the sheer numbers of food product that has gone to waste by carving pumpkins? Do most people scoop out the insides to make pies or breads with? I don't think so. There are starving people who would LOVE a pumpkin to cook. I'm telling Africa on all of you! Mad Not to mention it's the start of cold and flu season and you know damn well that little Johnny and Susie are mouth breathing under those Casper and Jasmine masks, and stickin' their germ riddled hands into your candy dish because the 'rents couldn't find it within themselves to justify the expense of those costumes on two kids staying home sick.

I hate Halloween. If people want to dress up and be scary they should take it to England, dress like Druids and form a circle 'round Stonehenge.
You should start offical "I hate Halloween" thread..

I LOVE halloween. DW dislikes halloween... Sadwalk

DW LOVES chirstmas. I am impartial.

I like christmas because it's the one time of the year that all my family can get together from their different places around the country, the actual holiday is just a commercial mess. I'll get DW and DKids presents whenever I darn well please, not when the store wants to sell me a stupid animatronic lit up reindeer that looks exactly like a real reindeer in my yard....

I like decorating with things that people know are fake, like dead people.

... Says the gal who succumbed to peer pressure and changed her avatar to ... horror of horrors... Alice in Wonderland. Speaking of Wonderland, I just love the twinkling lights of Christmas gleaming off of freshly falling snow. Seeing the little trail of paw prints of deer, squirrels and rabbits going about their foraging. Children dream pleasantly of presents and Santa, of family getting together, and the aromas of baked pies. heart

But I digress. You were saying... ?

Why Is it that non Christians or people that hate explicitly rant about their feelings about something like religion that easily Could hurt others feelings. Dont you have any respect for the other members on a public diverse forum?

Should i start making threads saying i hate ramadan and hannukah?

I'm glad you mentioned the avi thing. I was hoping some talented SD'er could "creep up" Alice in Wonderland over there.

And "children dream pleasantly of presents and Santa"? What children are these that you speak of? Huh

All I ever hear is "I want this, I want that, I didn't ask for that, Why did Grandma give me socks?" And my personal favorite, "Crap! We forgot mom's birthday ... again!"

Oh she's waiting on a face makeover, I see. After reading you going on about how much you love Halloween and seeing you change your avatar to something one step off from Bambi just didn't seem right.

*Cough* I was speaking of children who aren't held hostage at Christmas by someone with a heart two sizes too small! It sounds like you're keeping the Whosville children in captivity with all of their unmet dreams. No wonder they're so demanding!

Note to self: Say Happy Birthday to Alice on December 25th. No mention of Christmas, it'll be our little 'gift' to her. Snort!
