It would be awesome if they figured out how to put better upfiring speakers in these things. I know it would make them a few grams heavier, but it would be worth it, IMO.

This is where I would normally sing the praises of the laptop, but just the other day I turned mine on after letting it sit for about 2 months and there was literally only 2% battery charge left. I'm hoping it was just a fluke as losing 98% battery by just sitting on a shelf doesn't bode well for the device, IMO.

I have the gram from previous deal and it is great BUT has a nasty habit of not going to sleep when I close the lid . Extremely annoying; and yes I triple checked the settings. It just doesn't do it.

I think they just switched these to matte LCDs, which is good for using it outside use as reflectivity is the enemy of direct sunlight use. I believe the brightness is rated at 350 nits, which is on the low side of what you'd want for outdoor usage. Something like the Dell XPS 17 offers 500 nit screens. touch or non-touch, but starts almost twice as much. A trip to the Dell Outlet might yield some savings.

Oh wow, that is a really good price for the 17"! One thing I would consider though is that it's a pretty big laptop (L*W) and may not fit your backpack or laptop case. Our 16" Grams barely fit in our existing bags, etc.

When you shutdown Windows it doesn't really shutdown fully anymore. It goes into this "Fast Startup" mode which is like a deep sleep function but still uses battery. You can turn it off in Settings.

The Costco listing is for the integrated Xe graphics version based on the MSRP list price of $1,499.99 and storage capacity of only 512gb.

All the Nvidia Geforce RTX 2050 models in 16" and 17" start with 16gb ram and 1tb storage on the low end (for MSRP of $1,999 for 17" model) with higher-end model having 32gb ram and 2tg storage (MSRP of $2,299.99 for 17" model).
