The interest to be earned for $20k for this CD is approx. $920. Then you will need to deduct federal and state taxes from $920. Tax amounts depend on your tax brackets. For simplicity, let's use 25% for federal and 9% for state. So your final earned interest will be:

$920 - ($920 x (25% + 9%)) = $607.2

You can use above example to plug in your real tax bracket percentages to get your own number. It's a bit difficult to show the calculation of interest on here but you can find interest calculator on web.
I think by February-March next year we may see peak in interest rates being offered by banks. I would not advise to lock money for long term yet.
I don't have a dog in the race here but out of curiosity I checked the website at the OP's link:

Wells Fargo has 4.76% APY on 11 month CD. If you have a prime or premier account it bumps it up to 5% APY.
My recommendation is to Take advantage of their deal to get $525 first.

two steps to get the bonus:

Open a new eligible consumer savings account at a Wells Fargo branch with a minimum opening deposit of $25. You must provide the bonus offer code to the banker at the time of account opening.
Bring $25,000 or more in new money to your new savings account by Day 30 and maintain at least a $25,000 balance through Day 90 after account opening.

After that, put it in an 11 month CD at 5% APY.

By the end, in 14 months you will have earned close to $2,000.00 in bonus offer and interest.

If you just put it in Fidelity, it's 4.9% right now.

I have a question if someone can answer.
I moved 5k that was deposited on 7/25. On 7/31 I saw profit of 4$ something.
That was there saving plan. I think they say the profit is on daily basis but will be posted monthly. Is that accurate?
Let's say I put 50k. Would I see profit of $40 something in a month? Is that how you see it?

I understand this is an old post but if you follow the link, their 13 month CD APY is still the same 4.65%. Their 6 month CD offers the highest APY at 5.00%.

In that example the gave u the earned interest of 6 days.
Most will compound interest daily.. but you wont see it until the 1st of every month as a lump sum.

Charles Schwab has plenty of 5.3% CDs at 1 month 3 month 6 month 9 month 12 month etc. No reason to lock up your money longterm when you dont have to and can just get 1 month or 3 month cds for same APY.

I would also highly consider Agency GSE New Issue bonds (picture attached) that are paying high rates. These are callable after 1 year so at worse you have a 1 year high interest Bond that is also State Tax exempt and at best is a Fixed income earner 6.1%-6.4% for many years to come; assuming you can put this money away.

6.14% 10 Year bond
6.33% 15 Year bond
6.40% 20 Year bond

All with 8/2024 callable dates and then monthly callable after that.

can someone explain why getting a CD is better (maybe its not) than opening a high yields saving account? for ex, wealthfront has 4.8% saving account. am i missing something?

Rates would stay fixed for the term listed for the CD. Savings rates can change.
