Any thoughts on this vs the other rock tumbler posted here: https://slickdeals.net/share/iphone_app/t/16159822

My son (8) is very much into rocks, but I know nothing about tumbling. He has tubs of rough rocked 'mined' from a local shop. Thanks for any help!

I see you posted this days ago. How has your rock tumbler experience been? Any suggestions?

It has been pretty good! After Christmas my son did 3 cycles of tumbling. It took about a month to get through all 4 parts. It was hard for him to be patient! He took a break from tumbling, but we will start back up soon. We are looking into what we can do with the rumbled rocks.

The unit itself is easy to use. My only complaint is that it's LOUD! I had to put it on our lower level and even so I can still hear it through the basement door! But overall, great purchase!

FYI, I did not get this one though. I got a National Geographic one from target. It was about $70.

I got one of these for Christmas as a child, and it just sat in the box in my basement. So in a way, it was my very first slickdeal!
