I chatted with OnePlus support online.

"I would like to inform you that OnePlus 9 Unlocked devices come with globally unified and unlocked device from the factory itself. It will support all carrier bands.
And OnePlus 9 T-Mobile Unlock is carrier locked device. And due to website error it is mentioned as T-Mobile Unlock. However, it is carrier locked device.
LE2115 is North America unlock variant device and LE2117 is T-Mobile."

So I definitely want Unlocked (LE2115). Although this T-Mobile version might work for me now since I am on Mint (T-Mobile MVNO), I want to have the flexibility to use the phone on other carriers, e.g., when I travel overseas.

Am I the only one that has terrible issues with typing on this phone? I used it for a while when I sent my Pixel 6 is for repair and it would miss letters constantly. I could not figure out why it would fail to register my typing.

Edit: someone asked if I have a screen protector. I do not. I had also spent some time troubleshooting it, full wipe, set up as new no backup restored, clearing data, turning off vibration, a different keyboard, etc etc. Issue persisted. I sort of wanted to stick with it but I can't deal with typing issues.

Sneaky Oneplus today dropped base trade values for all Oneplus phones about $40 less for most devices.

FYI this T-mobile version cannot be unlocked out of the box. I bought one last week and cannot request unlock from T-mobile, kept saying "Unlock Failed Not Eligible for Unlock." Will be sending it back

T-mobile says you need 45 days of paid service on it.

A $60 Nord N100 was fetching $210 in trade. Just did it for the 3rd time for the 9Pro, and I assume it would work on the 9 as well.

OMG, I don't have the 9 but I have the 7 pro and I feel like I am crazy missing letters constantly. Maybe it's not just me!
Does it happen to be at the edge of the screen? For the curved screen, they put in an option to change the touch detection at the edges of the screen. If I remember right, it's in developer options.

What's the diff between "T-Mobile Unlocked" and Unlocked? No AT&T bands? one-SIM vs 2-SIM?

T-Moblie Unlocked means the operation system will show "T-Mobile" when you turn on the phone, and the system update will followed by T-Mobile which will be a little bit late than official unlocked version. You can use any SIM card

I remember that deal but didn't you have to use it on t mobile or another network for a time then you can unlock it? No way it's $50 no strings attached.

Thanks for the tip, however, I have problems with letters in the middle of the screen mostly.

Do you know if I can trade in my metro locked nord n200 or do they need an unlocked phone?

For some reason am only getting $100 off and total is $349 and not $299 for the 9.

For the 9 Pro it is showing current discounted price of $399.

Also, the trade in for my 7T is showing as only $50 for the 9 whereas for the 9 Pro showing $250 (with additional $200 trade-in credit)
The 299 is for the T-Mobile version only. Which doesn't have the color option. Only black

Yeah. I wanted to make a fuss with OnePlus about this. They are advertising 200 extra trade in for the 9 in the 9 purchase page but wont honor it

Got 9pro for $150 after tax.

$400 +$30 tax
Less $80 trade-in for 8 5g
Less $200 trade in bonus to be refunded after sending in trade-in.

Card got charged for $350, device to be delivered 11/14.

Hopefully One+ doesn't mess up trade-in bonus.

I figured it out. Seems like I was selecting Unlocked and not TMobile Unlocked.

Any idea if the TMobile unlocked can be used with other carriers out of box or do I have to request an Unlock code?
TMobile unlocked is unlocked. It just means the software updates won't come to you in time as TMobile will have to do their fixes to the additional stuff they have added to os and send it out. Generally lot of times the updates take extra months. Especially on an old phone

Snapdragon 888 is a flop, considering its abysmal overheat issue. Even 778G can be better in day-to-day use.
