I had this happen in the past with other trade in deals. You need to find a competent employee. That employee is focusing on the actual trade in value (what they give on a gift card). They need to look up the promotions which basically says you'll also get a $600 coupon with trade in.

Or you can just tell them to trade in in anyway, and watch to their surprise when the $600 coupon prints out along with the trade agreement.

I haven't done a factory reset in a while. How do Best Buy employees obtain IMEI and phone info to make sure it's the correct model trading in? Is there an option after factory reset, turning the phone back on, and getting access to phone info without going through the initial set up process?

I just factory reset mine in the store after processing the order. They gave me time to pop out my sim, make sure the new phone worked, etc.
