Buy a battery jump pack for $30 and road hazard for a few dollars a year from your car insurance for anything else + towing.
At least for me, it's more likely you'll get stuck in a road closure from an accident with no way out til it's cleared, or have a minor injury while traveling. IMO, buy a small Bandaid first aid kit or make your own. Keep some granola bars and a water bottle. Keep some baby food and applesauce pouches if you have little ones.
That sounds like a shill statement right there: "How much is the life of your family worth" says every sales person at a car dealership.
BTW, I bet your family is driving around on bald tires and screaming brake pads. But thats different, eh?

I hope you don't have kids because they will die young with someone as negligent as you
Your logic not mine.
If your car draws 350 amps to crank, there will be over 5 volts dropped in the cable. The voltage delivered to the car being jumped is reduced to about 7 volts. Most gas V8s need at least 9 volts to generate enough starter torque to turn the engine over.
The energy dissipated in the cable is about 1500 watts while cranking. This is the amount of energy (heat) that is used by a small space heater. The cables might get warm but are probably ok for a few seconds to crank an engine.
Looks like it wouldn't work for my 5.4l Expedition if it dropped a battery cell but might be ok if the battery is still fully functional but just discharged.
