Looking forward to some 14TB Seagate Exos at a good price. Missed the OEM deal from Newegg at $190, mainly me hesitating to buy from Newegg as they are horrible when it comes to returning things.

I'm on the market for the Seagate Hard drive and was wondering which is better, the Exos Enterprise or the IronWolf Pro, at 18tb, both are the same price at Amazon, $299.

IronWolf Pro [amazon.com] - Expos Enterprise [amazon.com]

This site summarizes it:

https://www.minitool.com/backup-t...f-pro.html

Exos are usually marketed to the Enterprise Market, IronWolf is kind of a hybrid where it gets marketed to the Consumer Markert and Enterprise Market.

Exos are kind of made for long high workloads, and as expected due to them being sold mainly to the Enterprise Market they have longer MTBFs. MTBFs is a measure of how long they usually last before producing an error. Enterprises tend to demand high MTBFs. IronWolfs are better at sprint type of workloads, but if you ask me a Cosumer won't really notice much difference performance wise between the 2.

I want them for a NAS, I will mainly pick whichever is significantly cheaper between the 2 of them. If the price is about the same I would pick Exos based on past experience with the Exos and they being rated/designed to have a longer life span than the IronWolfs.

Seems doubtful. Maybe MicroCenter will have something,
Fry's would've been good for something like this, RIP.

Best Buy Early Access BF Deal on the 14TB external Western Digital drive for $199. Not an amazingly crazy low price, but not bad.

This has been about as low as it has gone the last 2-3 years so I wouldn't expect it to go lower this year with inflation, etc.

That's interesting. I bought a couple of these exact same drives last year for the exact same price. I was hoping to add one more drive on my NAS and figured it would have dropped a little bit by now. They're still cooking just fine so I might pull the trigger anyway.
