If you've been taking advantage/relying on the 2 year extended warranty coverage offered by Citi Costco Visa, that benefit will be ending on 01/22/23.
Better make any purchases you want covered before that date!

Yup, that's the subscription/membership strategy.. people are used to it now.. so the they will pay more for convenience..
Wait, did it end already or is the end date January 2023?
Remember phone reps are paid minimum wage, they are not professional experts.
I would trust the printed date over what a phone rep says.
If we bought something last year, does that still get 2 years?

It still applies until January 21 2023. Just checked.
But truth be told (based on my xp), the benefit as a whole is getting worse even for cards that still support it. Amex NEVER had limited support hours for their phone staff until recently...it was 24/7 since the late 90s! They're also arbitrarily denying cases which would have been cut and try in the past, such as with phones with defective batteries.
The end result is the same... There's no reason to use the citi costco card outside costco anymore. You'll get better perks with other cards. The examples are myriad, but one big one is car rental insurance, which is primary on sapphire preferred. If cash back is your jam, there is double cash citi, amex business cash blue, and freedom unlimited...

For car rental insurance, personally I prefer Amex Premium Car rental protection (you need to have an AMEX card). Rental vehicle damage, accidental death, secondary medical expenses and secondary personal property are covered. I think it's more than what CSP provides. The price is Flat rate of $19.95 / $24.95 per rental period, not per day depending on your coverage selection ($15.95 / $17.95 for CA Residents; $12.25 / $15.25 for FL Residents).
