How about Costco HW-Q67cb at $229?
I was hoping for the "experts" to chime in on this as well. Might not matter...I tried to use the military program and could only get the $399 to show up. Certainly could be user error or the Military Offer does not include the soundbar!

Agreed but additional 2 up firing speakers should be able to simulate it better. I have only experienced Atmos via earbud (which too is simulated) and it was awesome. I just dont know how this would sound in real life.
Are Samsung returns easy and free?
Keep in mind those two extra speakers are extremely small how much of that or some extra tech is worth the extra money is a personal choice but it's not true "Atmos".

There are way to many variables to consider for any of these opinions to truly tell you how it will sound to you.

You have to keep in mind it doesn't matter what content you supply it you do not "get full Surround Atmos effects", it's all simulated.

I would give the least expensive a try and if you find it's "awesome" then you are done IMO.

Could you reference Samsung Spec where it mentions "Atmos Simulation" . I was unable to find it anywhere on the product page.

I'm not sure why you're so confused about this. Perhaps you're conflating signing up for an account with opening a line of credit? To be clear, to get this deal, there is NO requirement to have or use a Samsung credit line. Period.
Until proven contrary, any financing involves a credit inquiry and opening of a credit account, including the financing mentioned in the original post. To make it clearer, that is what I was commenting about, not the deal sans the financing.

Well you have to read between the lines, as an example:
"Expert-tested. Scientifically tuned. Samsung's perfectly balanced, room-filling sound is developed by top audio engineers at our California Audio Lab"

"Atmos(& X) is/are proprietary codec(s) I'm pretty sure Dolby(DTS) doesn't care after that.

People are willing to pay more because it says "Atmos" on it and if you believe that's what you are getting that's all that really matters, sound is subjective.

Dolby originally labeled their designs, soon after they are just options to get it, smart business move.

Bose built a huge business with this, now it's even more convenient and aesthetically pleasing.

I'm not knocking it, to each their own.
This especially true with streaming audio, a significant drop in quality.

was able to snag the HW-Q700B earlier, but now im second guessing my purchase and thinking of getting Q800B or Q910B. i thought the Q800B came with the extra 2 speakers, but i dont see it in the picture.

or should i just stick with the q700?

ill be pairing it with a 2021 65" LG B1 tv if that helps

also, i used chase freedom via paypal. i should still get that 5% cashback, right?

A lot of folks do not know how to properly connect these to get Atmos. If you hookup your streaming device or BR source to a TV which is incorrectly setup the TV will not passthrough TrueHD . It is also true if your TV is older than 2021 and you plan to do passthrough.

Instead you can connect this speaker ( and Q800 , Q990B ) directly to Nvidia Shield Pro for example which play all and every format today available. Then in Plex or other source like Netflix , HBO you can send directly to the speaker via HDMI 2.1 cable the Atmos Data. The speaker does the passthrough to the TV for the video.

These speakers have dedicated driver and speakers for Atmos. Q700B has 2 upfiring speakers just for Atmos channel. If you pair Q700B with rear SWA-9500S you can get additional 2 rear Atmos speakers ( 2.0.2 ) total 4 dedicated ATMOS tangible speakers.

The only downside of these speakers is that instead of beaming sound from the ceiling down on you they beam up to the ceiling and hope the sound will bounce to your ear.

Another problem is that since these are low budget / entry level speakers for consumers who do not know about ATMOS requirements and how to properly setup these speakers to achieve the targeted performance. And to be honest it could be a bit challenging to do proper setup.

So for these there are 2 options:

1. Get 2022 Samsung Q series TV which does Atmos pass through
2. Use NVIDIA Shield Pro ( not the barrel ) and connect HDMI out to the Q700B and from there use HDMI to connect TV.

in both cases users MUST use HDMI 2.1 cable otherwise you will not get ATMOS.

If you have older TV than 2021 or your streaming device is Fire Stick, Roku etc ( other than NVIDIA SHield Pro ) you will NOT be able to achieve ATMOS playback.

Connecting BR player via 2022 TV or via speaker using HDMI 2.1 cable should also work.

That is not 100% correct, even my 3 year old LG oled passes through Atmos to my Polk sound bar which shows when it's getting an Atmos signal, Its lossy which can go over arc, it only works for streaming service Atmos content like Netflix

Fire 4k max says Atmos support, why do you say it can't achieve playback may i know?
Also NVIDIA SHield Pro says HDMI2.0 port, does it support HDMi2.1 cable?

The only reason to buy these is if there is ZERO way to fit normal speakers to the left, right, and center of your screen. Physics dictate that you'll get better results with cheaper speakers that have any combination of larger drivers and more separation.
Do you have a comparable (in price) set of speakers you want to tell us about? A traditional speaker setup normally costs more.

You are correct it is not easy setting up a proper object based setup in the average home.
If you were to hear one you would understand soundbars truly don't produce it.

Object based codec is a proprietary one that works on top of the core codec.

Basically regardless what goes in its technology that simulates the surround especially in a 3.1.2 soundbar.

Some AVR's use virtual X tech also.
It's normally for non Atmos content to utilize the Atmos speakers.
Even on a proper set up it is not the same thing.

A couple things to add:
- If you use Perks at Work, there is an extra 6% back in their tokens
- Paypal has a digital wallet deal for 4% cash back from Samsung.com (until Nov 14). It's not clear if soundbars are excluded
- If you bundle this with a TV you can save more money off the $240 price, and get an xbox controller

Example bundle ($1889.98):
- Samsung 65" S95B: $1709.00
- Q700B Soundbar + Sub: $179.99
- Xbox Controller (included)
- $113.39 in Wow points (perks at work tokens)
- $75.59 PayPal rewards (cashable)

Edit: The Samsung return policy is also 15 days (this will get you through Black Friday if there are any price changes)
