Aesthetics
So the 700b bar is like jet black and the 800b has more of a charcoal color. Both look good. They are the same length but the 700b is slightly shorter in terms of height and the ends are just capped whereas the 800b has the side firing speakers at the far reaches of the unit. As for the subs they are night and day design wise. The 800b looks more modern and is obviously larger compared to the 700b
Sound
Alright so I tested both systems on hdmi earc with Q symphony enabled. I put on a movie called underground 6 on Netflix which has atmos. I ran the same car chase scene like 10x on each one. My conclusion is this: Both bars (in my space) sound VERY similar. The subs, despite the size, aren't that far off from each other. I'm not sure the 800b is worth the $479 price tag I paid (which is the lowest it's ever been) so it's still double the $239 of the 700b. Simply put Im not getting double the sound value or even close. It's like a 15% better sound from the 800b on the bar maybe a 20% increase on the sub. Definitely not enough for someone like me to really notice. Kind of disappointed that the performance is this alike because I wanted my 800b to win.
Your results might very depending on your room setup. Since I'm in wide open space the side firing speakers might not even be doing justice in the 800b and could sound a lot better than the 700b if I was in an enclosed space. You'll have to fk around for yourself. The 800b is going back and I'm buying a second 700b for the same price of the single 800b
Settings:
Center channel 3
Top firing max at 6
Side firing 3 (800b)
Woofer+treble max at 6

Are Samsung returns easy and free?
There are way to many variables to consider for any of these opinions to truly tell you how it will sound to you.
You have to keep in mind it doesn't matter what content you supply it you do not "get full Surround Atmos effects", it's all simulated.
I would give the least expensive a try and if you find it's "awesome" then you are done IMO.

"Expert-tested. Scientifically tuned. Samsung's perfectly balanced, room-filling sound is developed by top audio engineers at our California Audio Lab"
"Atmos(& X) is/are proprietary codec(s) I'm pretty sure Dolby(DTS) doesn't care after that.
People are willing to pay more because it says "Atmos" on it and if you believe that's what you are getting that's all that really matters, sound is subjective.
Dolby originally labeled their designs, soon after they are just options to get it, smart business move.
Bose built a huge business with this, now it's even more convenient and aesthetically pleasing.
I'm not knocking it, to each their own.
This especially true with streaming audio, a significant drop in quality.

Instead you can connect this speaker ( and Q800 , Q990B ) directly to Nvidia Shield Pro for example which play all and every format today available. Then in Plex or other source like Netflix , HBO you can send directly to the speaker via HDMI 2.1 cable the Atmos Data. The speaker does the passthrough to the TV for the video.
These speakers have dedicated driver and speakers for Atmos. Q700B has 2 upfiring speakers just for Atmos channel. If you pair Q700B with rear SWA-9500S you can get additional 2 rear Atmos speakers ( 2.0.2 ) total 4 dedicated ATMOS tangible speakers.
The only downside of these speakers is that instead of beaming sound from the ceiling down on you they beam up to the ceiling and hope the sound will bounce to your ear.
Another problem is that since these are low budget / entry level speakers for consumers who do not know about ATMOS requirements and how to properly setup these speakers to achieve the targeted performance. And to be honest it could be a bit challenging to do proper setup.
So for these there are 2 options:
1. Get 2022 Samsung Q series TV which does Atmos pass through
2. Use NVIDIA Shield Pro ( not the barrel ) and connect HDMI out to the Q700B and from there use HDMI to connect TV.
in both cases users MUST use HDMI 2.1 cable otherwise you will not get ATMOS.
If you have older TV than 2021 or your streaming device is Fire Stick, Roku etc ( other than NVIDIA SHield Pro ) you will NOT be able to achieve ATMOS playback.
Connecting BR player via 2022 TV or via speaker using HDMI 2.1 cable should also work.

Also NVIDIA SHield Pro says HDMI2.0 port, does it support HDMi2.1 cable?

If you were to hear one you would understand soundbars truly don't produce it.
Object based codec is a proprietary one that works on top of the core codec.
Basically regardless what goes in its technology that simulates the surround especially in a 3.1.2 soundbar.
Some AVR's use virtual X tech also.
It's normally for non Atmos content to utilize the Atmos speakers.
Even on a proper set up it is not the same thing.
