This one was worse than the 2020 model FYI

This is basically a better/upgraded version of the moto g play 2021 that I got for $79.00 brand new more than a year ago, that phone has 3gb of ram and 32gb built in storage while this has 4gb of ram, 64gb built in storage, better processor and the triple camera, decent phone but not a "slick" deal at $129.
I would say if this was $79 as of now in late 2022 during the holidays and going towards 2023 then it would be a pretty good deal, at $129 not so much.

Definitely a typo. It's a 4G phone.

I had this phone for a year. I told myself that I would never pay $1,000 for a phone so I went with this one completely expecting a performance hit. So I had low expectations from the beginning as I came from a Pixel 3 XL. I have used old computers and phones in the past and usually you can open just enough applications at once to use them reasonably without any issues.

This phone is pretty slow when navigating through menus. It's not terrible but you will definitely notice it's not as smooth as many other phones when scrolling. The camera app is by far the worst camera app I have used in ten years easy. It's incredibly slow and usually doesn't work properly when you want to take a picture. It's also just a bad camera. Over the year that I owned it, it became more difficult to hear people on phone calls. I keep it as a backup if I ever break my current phone. That's it though. I don't think it's worth $130, but maybe it is and I just have higher expectations for spending more than a hundred dollars. If you want a slow phone with a bad camera buy it. If not, and if you can afford to, do yourself a favor and buy a Pixel 6a, the difference is night and day. The Pixel 6a blows this away in every aspect and will feel more like a flagship device.

Maybe it will work for some, but unfortunately it did not work for me and my expectations were pretty low to begin with.

Both my kids have this phone. They love it and have no problems. Bought my daughters for 50 bucks used on ebay. This is a great phone to get used because the battery life is so good which means battery deterioration is not as huge of a deal.

How is Hello Mobile? I'm on the tmo prepaid $15 3 gigs plan. I was thinking of switching to Hello or to the $25 boost unlimited plan. I hear nothing but bad things about boost tho
Keep in mind that Hello Mobile is an MVNO, so it works only on TMo native network and no roaming on other carriers. It works well in and around large metros. Check the coverage map before switching over.

God this is true. I'm using this phone right now and it just slows down ugly and the camera is the worst part it's so damn slow and laggs so u have to wait for it to smooth out to take a picture. I already reset it twice and will be fast then slows down. Looked at xda for a custom rom but no one's developing

I'm just a stick in the mud to not give Amazon any money. The more money they get, the more other vendors get choked out, which let's Amazon raise prices as a monopoly. I'd much rather go to the manufacturer direct.

The 2022 5g stylus is $199 at a bunch of places now, I just got it from best buy last week. Seems pretty great so far. It's still $199 at best buy for the 256gb cosmic emerald version.
That's the 2021 version, not the 2022 version, decent phone for an ok price at $200.

Sorry, my mistake. Still seems like a pretty great phone for the price.

Got a new open box 5G Sumsung with 128GB on eBay for less than this a few months ago.
You got a cheap price because it was a Sumsung.

What i do is just use google voice to keep a phone number

then just buy a new metropcs phone every month. The first one i'll keep
until it automatically unlocks in 6 months.

The rest i sell after i activate the next one for the next month.

THis way i'm always using a new phone and coming out ahead.

Been seeing a lot of these Motos on sale. How is this one?
Horrible. I just got a month ago and already looking for a new one. It's super slow and apps shut down randomly.

How's the 2020 superior to the 2022 model?
I have the 2020 and considering getting the 2022. Thanks.
I bought a 2020 version as a back-up
It sat around for months - charged but unused
Then I used it one night for YouTube and I was like "holy crap these speakers are great."
Speakers were better than my more expensive phones
The battery is also a killer

Agreed. This phone is my and my wife's daily-driver for almost a year, and we are constantly commenting to each other on how slow it is. Granted, I probably have too much installed on it (including a host of open source applications that probably are not optimized well). But much slower than the Pixel 3 I used previously. Get something else, unless you are truly running barebones with a few apps.

I just got the Moto G Stylus 5G from another slickdeal at a similar price point. Its not unlocked, but comes with some minimal service and can be unlocked after 60 days.

Just throwing this out there if you're looking for a budget phone that is 5G. Also has 128gb storage.
You are faking, you are referring a locked phone vs. an unlocking phone.
I also got couple free moto g stylus 2022 for free from Metro
