these cheap phones are great to keep at in the car, at work, or in your bag just in case for emergencies. just remember to at least use them about once a month to keep them active else they could go inactive and then game over.

Yes. If you wait 60 days before transferring the minutes/airtime and haven't added 4+ lines to your account already, you'll also get 10k points per line. 20k points is worth much more than 120 (60*2) days of airtime, so that's usually the way to go (plus then you can unlock the phones and make them more useful as a donation if you just care about the airtime.)

I doubt this. I actually haven't used mine in 3 months and it's still active. It's still got minutes so why would it go inactive?

I am pretty sure that it is 6 months you have to use at least once or they will deactivate. They did this to me on one of my kids lines. Chat support was useless when I tried them. I was able to go to the website and get it reactivated.

The actual phones, no. For new Tracfone accounts to get the most points. Activate 1 with a top tier referral code. Activate the 2nd with Tracfone support chat with Add A Line.

If you don't care about the reward points, then yes you can combine immediately and get 2 years. If you do want the points then you have to wait 60 days for the points to credit before you can combine. As far as I know Tracfone doesn't publicly state how long you can wait to activate it. I've seen people claim they waited over 1 year before activating.

What do you mean, "goes inactive"? I'd like to buy and keep one of these UNOPENED In case I lose or break my phone. Will this work and does my 1 year start from the day of activation or the day I buy it?

The 1 year plan starts at activation, not purchase.

After activation Tracfone requires 1 outgoing activity every 6 month or else they'll suspend the account. No idea why since they'll reinstate it for free.

Tracfone doesn't publicly state how long you can wait before activating it. I've seen some claims of over 1 year.
