these cheap phones are great to keep at in the car, at work, or in your bag just in case for emergencies. just remember to at least use them about once a month to keep them active else they could go inactive and then game over.

Yes. If you wait 60 days before transferring the minutes/airtime and haven't added 4+ lines to your account already, you'll also get 10k points per line. 20k points is worth much more than 120 (60*2) days of airtime, so that's usually the way to go (plus then you can unlock the phones and make them more useful as a donation if you just care about the airtime.)

This is essentially 20k points (2x Add-a-Line bonuses) on Tracfone for $30, 20k points gets you a $300 off coupon. That gets you multiple refurbished iPhone XRs you can trade in for a Pixel 7 or for Apple GC credit.

if you are brand new to tracfone dont forget to use a referral code for 5,000 points. then if you want to activate the other phone just add it to your account and get another 10,000 points. google "tracfone referral"

Following the "guidelines" posted in the thread, I chatted with a rep last night and was able to add two lines. The 20k reward points didn't show up immediately in the active window, but they were there when I logged in on a different browser (they did show up in the active window a few minutes later). I also activated the two phones via the rep and they both went through smoothly.

The phones are indeed junk - the screen resolution is just horrible. And I almost forgot how to operate flip phones. But I'm only in it for the reward points, hoping to reward myself a decent iPhone with a $300 credit eventually after the points become redeemable.

For those who're T-Mobile customers interested in trading them up to a budget smartphone, you may be out of luck. I tried it - the brand didn't show up in the list of eligible devices.

I wish I had known that the reward points were actually at the account level. I did a similar deal over a year ago 3 times but set up 3 different accounts. I've ported out two numbers for Visible deals and now I'm left with two accounts with some unused points.
I read somewhere you can gift airtime to someone else's line using your reward points. Might be able to even buy a phone discount (not sure if those can be combined). Or cash out when they have gift cards you can buy. I believe it was 3500 for a $10 Walmart eGC.

Regardless hopefully you can find a usage for those extra points.

No, I just got refunded half the cost and kept both. After the points vest on the broken one I will just trash it.

The broken one is not my primary though... so you might need to return both if you can't switch them Frown
I got a partial refund as well. .the phone is a hit and miss. one phone works well.. Other one doesnt work.

Anyone know if I can switch devices while the points are pending? I have a spare iphone se which I would like to switch the sim to. any inputs appreciated. Thanks

People have said that making any current line changes (beyond adding more lines) may put your pending 20k points at risk. It is a royal pain to get any missing points. The chat can't help. The phone reps don't have the info. Most of the phone reps don't even know there is a 10000 point offer going on.

If you haven't done it already I would port out first then add the other two lines. Good luck.
The points aren't pending anymore, have they removed anyones points after they were given

I got one working phone and one dud. I called HSN and they recommended sending me two replacements, and after I receive them, I can return two devices. I wonder if I include the activated working one in the return if I'll still get the activation bonus. Anyone have experience with what happens with activated Tracfone returns at HSN?

Side note: HSN has the friendliest customer service. Why can't other companies do this?

if you return both, dont touch your acct until the points ready to redeem. dont risk your $30 phones over 20k points. once you cashout the points then you can replace the phones.

If the rep doesn't seem to know about the 10,000 AAL bonus I'd hang up and call again because it's not new, they've been offering it since late August (and it's been promoted on their website).

Sorry but I have a dumb question. So these Orbic phones don't run Android apps. Makes it a pain to move contacts from the previous phone over to the Orbic. Tried putting the Tracfone SIM into an Android phone in order to more easily copy the contacts onto the SIM itself. Tried a bunch of free apps for this specific task and none of the apps will write the contacts to the SIM card. When I connect the Orbic to a Windows PC it presents a read only directory that only shows some outdated verizon software that seems to be intended to download OS updates for the Orbic.

Am I missing a simpler method to import contacts from a different device into this phone? Is this just a limitation with all flip phones that do not run Android?

Should I export all the previous contacts into some specific format and put them on a micro SD card, then put that card into the Orbic and somehow import them?

Trying to help an elderly neighbor and his wife move from expensive prepaid to these Orbic phones. Getting the contacts copied over has me stumped! Husband lost his previous phone but his contacts are backed up via the Google contacts app. I'm not a stranger to import/export and CSV or other formats for various data types. Thought I could use my own Android phone to write the contacts to the SIM. My phone is tracfone branded and it will use the SIM from the Orbic happily. But dang if I can't write any contacts to the friggin' Tracfone SIM.

FYI - I had to remove and reinstall the SIM card in one of the two Orbic phones to get it working. The SIM card holder in this model slides forward and flips upward to allow installation and removal. This configuration was alien to me as I've always used models which had a SIM tray. Hope this helps someone who got stuck like I did when trying to activate and phone kept saying the SIM was not installed even though the SIM was physically inside the slot.

I've had a few old phones like that. Sometimes they're used to stack a sim and sdhc card to save space.

Can you export as a .vcf file? Might be the most acceptable format to a flip phone. Just a thought, Not much experience with it myself to give you anymore details.

Just to share my story with these 2 phone and Tracfone.

So I ordered these and one of them successfully activated. I did it online. On the second one I wanted to carry my phone number I called them and called them and called them. Waited 5 days as they requested. They couldn't transfer my phone number and when I gave up they they couldnt give me promised 1200min/text/mb. My line shows zero min.

Then I called HSN they told me they will send me another sim card in 21 days. I got the sim, called Tracfone. They cannot help me. They say zip code I have no numbers, even though I give correct email and everything they cannot verify my account.

I have been really really patient with them. Taking my time. But enough is enough it has been a month and hours of phone calls.

Returning these. They make me pay for the shipping. Not even my fault.

Not sure what you mean, but often the default zipcode is their Miami location. Might try that.

When transferring number from previous carrier, you need to provide the zip code of the previous account holder, which could be different from yours if you were in a family/group plan, even though you have correct area code. If successfully transferred, you can end up with state A's zip and state B's area code. However your case seems different.
