Is it fast and stable enough as a boot drive for portable Windows or Linux installation?
Depends if it overheats.

I am getting $5 shipping at Samsun also. Kinda ruining it for me, wanted to avoid using Amazon, but $5 is $5. Any free ship promo codes?

On Android I can access flash drives with a file manager app. I think most phones come with some kind of file manager pre installed.

Will this hit sub $20 in the next year?
of course - anything with tech and more specifically storage will always decrease in price over time

Confirmed with Samsung cust care. The sitewide free shipping doesn't apply memory. No way to avoid shipping cost from Sammy

Read Speed up to 400MB/s
Write speed is what differentiates good from bad, if anyone has stats on that.

My 256 writes at about 120 MB/s, and very consistently too - for like 70 GB of files in a row. Gets a bit toasty but I'm sure it's within spec.
