​It's actually been 4 heart attacks. I had the first one in early Oct. They did an angiogram and 2 of my arteries were completely closed and the 3rd was 80% closed. They were going to wait a couple of months to do open heart surgery but I had another episode the night before I was going to be discharged and they decided to do it right away. They took a vein from my leg to replace the 2 arteries that were closed. I was in the hospital for around a month and finally they let me go home. I had fainting spells sometimes as much as 20 times a day. I never actually passed out but I was this close. I had trouble walking anything more than 50 feet. They changed my medication and 3 days later I was able to walk a mile. I walked every day rain or shine and worked it up to 5 miles. To make a long story short, the 2 new arteries closed and they had to put in a stint. I've had 2 more episodes, 2 more angiograms, and multiple hospital stays. They put me on plavix after the stint and I had a horrible reaction to it. They switched me over to brilinta and that causes me extreme shortness of breath which is one of the worst feelings you can ever have. I've been out of the hospital since Friday a week ago. I still have the fainting stuff every now and then. The extreme shortness of breath is all of the time and chest pain is all of the time. I can only walk a mile now and it's not any fun because it takes everything I have to do it. I'm not sure what's going to happen from here on out. All I can do is to take my meds, go on my walks, and try to follow my heart diet. I'm not doing a very good job of following my diet. I was at first but it's really hard.

I waited 2 days to go to the hospital when I had my first heart attack because I thought it was acid reflux. My heart attack happened at 10 pm and I went thru hell that night. I went to Rite Aid as soon as they opened and got some Pepcid. Believe it or not, it worked and I felt a thousand percent better but the next day I felt really bad and knew it wasn't acid reflux and finally went to the ER. My troponin level was around 5000 when they did my lab work. Moral of the story - go to the hospital.

Was it Charming?

Charming is actually Tujunga. The clubhouse is in North Hollywood and New Charming is in Montrose. It's funny how Norcal was all shot in Socal.

Somebody on Reddit said that Charming was really Farmington. Have you been there?

PS There used to be a hole in the wall Mexican place in Temple City called Taco Villa. Anna was the owner and she did all of the cooking. It was the best Mexican food I've ever had by far. I always got a burrito. Her hot sauce was called rocket fuel (JPL was close by) and it could put you into orbit. It would've been worth the drive from Norcal to go there. Her food was that good. One day I made the long drive out there and she was gone. I guess that she retired. She said that she constantly got offers to buy her out but she never would do that.

I go to the Westlake CVS every now and then but Popeyes and the Italian deli don't ring a bell. Kanan is a few miles east of Westlake and there's a great Italian deli just north of the freeway. It's called Italia and has outdoor seating and a little market. There's a CVS in the same shopping center. Just across the street is a Rite Aid and Ralphs. I've had really good
luck at that Ralphs with some amazing clearance finds. If you ever get out to the CVS in Malibu, the store manager's name is Phil and he's a super nice guy and great surfer.
