The math checks out that this is probably like last years BF deal for the reliant tires, with free one-time mounting and balancing included ($12 per tire)

Savings of $128 is $80 for the tires, $48 for the labor... Which comes out to $12 a tire. Since it's $17 for lifetime balancing and rotation (now) , you'd pay the $5 balance x 4 to get it to $68 total for labor.

You can also pay $10 x 4 for road hazard, but IMO, when tires are this cheap (for my car at least), it almost isn't worth it... Just get a new tire for that $40.

If you get goodyear brand tires, goodyear stores will fix your flats for free even if you didn't buy it from them... That's usually the bulk of the road hazard coverage that I acrually use.

I have the reliants on my '13 prius... No issues at all. Very thick tread depth even after a year, and though my car isn't a hotrod by any measure, these have worked great through all types of weather. Haven't tested them in the winter as I switch to winter every January.

In past years these deals included mounting and lifetime balance. I will update the OP once the full terms are available on Walmart.com.

UPDATE: The banner which was shared multiple times in this thread clearly shows free install and balance. I had a chat with Walmart, and they stated it is a free one-time balance with the installation. If I wanted lifetime balance, then I must pay extra. I contacted my local Walmart, and they confirmed this, and said they are doing free installs and one time balance up to and including Sunday November 27th.

Click the link below and look at post #342 for a screenshot showing free install and balance if you have a problem at the Walmart installation center.

I need 2 tires 215/60/R16 .Can I order 2 tyres and get them install free at walmart at the price 2*75+tax??? Anything I am missing here? Any details is appreciated
You will still pay for $3 valve stem/TPMS service pack and $2 disposal. $2 more per tire if you want to do lifetime balancing instead of 1-time.

I called my local Walmart and they said this year the installation is not included with the Black Friday deal and it would be $17 per tire for install, anyone else getting free installer any issues?
They are lying to you.

I just got back from wally world to install 2 GY Reliant tires and I can confirm that the install/balancing is Free. This is one-time balancing, not lifetime! I did asked if I can pay the $2 difference to get lifetime balancing and was told no. She said in past years, they weren't supposed to allow for that but people found a loophole and did it. But they switched to a new system this year and that can't be done anymore. I don't know if she's telling the truth or just lie to me but that's what I was told. You will also have to pay for valve stem $3 each....at least I did. So, I got 2 tires installed with road hazard ($10/tire) and valve stems and paid $26 totalled out the door. Hope this helps.
She's correct about the new system. The service writer tool was switched and we can no longer do manual discounting on the fly. The $2 difference can still be done manually at the register but it's a hassle to do unless the register at the tire center is manned by someone competent.

I never replace the valve stem or valve core. These items should last +20 years under normal use. Also don't waste $ by replacing those expensive electronic tire pressure sensors when the batteries die. Spend $10 for a quality electronic tire gauge and check the tire pressure once a month.
Valve core is replaced with the valve stem. Please don't give out stupid uneducated advice, valve stems still degrade as they are rubber and should be replaced the same time as you do tires.

It can't find any tires on sale when I put the car info in. It's a friends Chevy Trax with a 16" tire, thought it would be pretty common.
The car? Yes. The tire size? Nope, GM went with a stupid bespoke tire size option unfortunatley.

So those of you who are bypassing the tire installation fees... Can you please let me know the best route on how to do it? I have an appt on Friday and I LOVE saving money when I can.

Help me out Master-SD'rs!!
If you go with 1-time balancing, you're basically going to pay $20 + tax for everything. That $20 includes the valve stem/TPMS service packs (service packs can be declined sometimes, valve stems nope) and the disposal fees (unless you take the old tires with you).

No they shouldn't, old valve stems are rubber junk. There's zero chance you're still using your original 1986 valve stems unless they're the metal type.
Why would the rubber fail if it is not subjected to tensile loading? My 80s Schwinn Probe still has the original front inner tube. No problem with the schrader valve holding 80 psi. Most car tires run at 51 psi max.

Do you replace all rubber parts on your car after five years? Case closed!

It's called heat and dry rot. Happens to tires, hoses, vacuum lines, etc.

Wearing on the outside edge is an alignment issue, not rotation. Wearing on both outside edges is underinflation.
Only the front tires have excessive wear. If the tires were never rotated, there will be excessive wear at the outer edge due to G force loading when cornering. This is a small compact new Prius. Very little chance of both cambers out of spec at the front.

Why do people not understand that the disposal fee is imposed by their government, not the store? Is it a scam? No. Is it annoying? Absolutely. But it is NOT the store's choosing, and it is not optional on the store's part, even if you dispose of/recycle/repurpose the tires yourself.
is it me not understanding that, or is it you not understanding that that "fee" isnt what we are talking about? although many(most)(all?) states impose a "tire disposal fee", aka a flat rate tax to subsidize the disposal of tires. this make the cost to dispose tires cheaper at the recycling center. The goal being to curb tire littering. this fee is baked into in the purchase of a new tire, and consumers rarely see this on the bill. its simply part of the cost of the tire.

that fee isnt what we are talking about. we are talking about the store charging to physically dispose of your old tire. be it charging to haul it to the recycle plant, or carry it to the back storage room... and it is 100% optional from all angles. it is a completely separate fee than the one built into the price of a new tire. which is why you can go to walmart and buy and install tires, and elect to keep your old tires, and you will not receive the tire disposal fee we are talking about. you can also bring them tires you bought elsewhere, that you already paid the "tire disposal tax" on, and have them install them, and they will or will not charge you an additional amount to dispose of your old tires if you choose to do so.

most places that offer free installation also include the tire disposal fee as part of the free service.

Placed order online yeaterday, installed this morning. There was commotion between the employees on how to ring it up because it was "dotcom order". I declined the roadhazard so it cost me $12 for the new valve stems. Balance and install complete. But he stressed heavily, "THIS IS ONE TIME BALANCE". Like I was doing something wrong.

I got free installation. I bought 215/60/16 and I selected the tire installation online that said $17-$20 per tire but when it came time to pay in store for the service it was only $20. Tire disposal fee and Tpms fee. But the actual tire install was $0 per tire. I didn't ask the worker about free install it just happened.

I've compared the Sam's club version of Goodyear Outlast against the Sumitomo HTR Enhance LX2. The Sumitomo is a superior tire!
