BUT the low price was $899 a week or so ago. I'm personally fingers crossed it hits $799 around Black Friday.

Went to pickup this same TV open box excellent earlier this year for around $1200. Looked like it was a display unit packed in a somewhat damaged box. First manager didn't want to take out of the box for me to examine and when I returned later that day the manager on duty then obliged. There was no damage to the TV but there was no remote so they had to find one to turn on the TV to test it. I took it home but it just did not get bright enough even for my darkish bedroom so I returned promptly. Happy I did as I was able to snag my preferred brand new LG G1 just a few months after for just $1K from the same BB.

The screen was smashed and cracked from the bottom middle up. No glass in box though, so it looks like it was already smashed before it was boxed.
They even taped up the box with tape that had ''inspected'' printed on it. I'll have to bring it to their store (wish they did UPS pickup like amazon) and I hope they dont give me a hard time or treat me like the damage is on me or something.

I used to recommend buying open box from BB but not again. They've gotten scammy with it. Not sure if it's a company policy or sleazy employees running some form of scam (maybe swapping previously written off sets with genuine open box excellent sets & taking if for themselves? Just a theory.), but open box offerings from BB has now become unreliable.
Hope your return works out and please update us how it went.

Sounds you ordered online and had it shipped to you?
Always check Best Buy open box items BEFORE you leave the store
If its in the box , have them open it and check things out

It can be hit of miss...and something the deal gets better when you make them realize what they actually have
A few weeks ago I looked at a Samsung QN90a in a 65" open box " excellent" condition
Opened the box and the stand for the TV was not there
The manager them marked it down from " excellent " to " fair" condition taking about $150( plus tax off the price). I bought a stand , brand new , on Ebay for $60.00
So with a 65" QN90A , that was spotless otherwise with protective film on it, the stand and a 5 year Geek Squad warranty and tax I was still only at $830.00
So you need to do the extra work on open box...but I still say worth it financially
