If that is the only concern but you like the Google experience, these are extremely easy to add a dongle for a USB port to add a flash drive for additional storage.
I got this cable for mine and it works flawlessly with a mini flash drive: https://a.co/d/i8ApGy2
I'm sure there are cheaper options available if you are willing to look. That is just an example. Pair it with something like this Samsung 64gb flash drive on sale and that should be more than enough for most users: https://a.co/d/2oJJYYZ
I tried to contact support and get the difference refunded for last weeks sale and they told me I'd have to reorder and return original
That mentality is SOOOO bass-ackwards! I couldn't believe it when Amazon started doing the same thing. With all the expenses of reverse logistics, It boggles my mind that companies wouldn't just take the 5 minutes to just issue the difference as a refund.
I like the Chromecast device and HATE the remote. I think the interface is way better than the FireTV interface, but the FireTV has better hardware (IMO.)
Decisions....
I haven't used the Chromecast listed here, but I got a couple of these and have been very impressed especially considering they are Onn brand. My previous Chromecast devices eventually came to crawl and had to be replaced. It was recommended by others on SD and I have been happy.

So stupid.
Yeah im sad they can't do it, especially since in the past walmart used to auto price match and Amazon has done the same, but not sure if they do anymore. Im not gonna bother, i don't want it to potentially land up in a landfill to save me $10

That's unlikely. It'll likely end up in a bulk return bin that discount resellers buy and re-sell. There's a whole sub-market that's been created by online returns.
I've got a Chromecast Ultra that I've never been able to get to work, it has no issues going through setup and completes setup but the Google Home app never detects it after that. I've got a 400mbps internet connection, zero issues with any of my other smart devices. I've just never been able to get it to work whatsoever and their support is forums, with the every day Joe offering zero help.
Anyone know what to do, when the Google Home app doesn't detect it? I've factory reset it far too many times but nothing works.
