If that is the only concern but you like the Google experience, these are extremely easy to add a dongle for a USB port to add a flash drive for additional storage.

I got this cable for mine and it works flawlessly with a mini flash drive: https://a.co/d/i8ApGy2

I'm sure there are cheaper options available if you are willing to look. That is just an example. Pair it with something like this Samsung 64gb flash drive on sale and that should be more than enough for most users:

Does anyone know if this is compatible with the ethernet adapter from the last gen (round version)?.
It's not. They have a USB-C port now, so the old Ethernet adapter won't even fit. Google sells a new USB C Ethernet adapter for $20.
You can use a capable hub to maybe get it to work, but no doubt you'll end up spending more if you go the hub and dongle route.

I don't think so. The Chromexast Ultra power adapters are micro-usb, and these, I believe are usb-c. Unfortunately you'd have to buy the newer ethernet power adapter separately.

This 4K or the HD version for $18? I ordered the Amazon deal for the HD but should I cancel and get this instead?

I've got a Chromecast Ultra that I've never been able to get to work, it has no issues going through setup and completes setup but the Google Home app never detects it after that. I've got a 400mbps internet connection, zero issues with any of my other smart devices. I've just never been able to get it to work whatsoever and their support is forums, with the every day Joe offering zero help.

Anyone know what to do, when the Google Home app doesn't detect it? I've factory reset it far too many times but nothing works.
Everything needs to be on the same network.

If everything is on the same network, check your router settings. Some routers support blocking multicast traffic and may have other "prevent devices from seeing each other" features.

Just picked it up. This is 10 dollars cheaper than the BF deals at $39, and you get a Funko Pop! And it is in a separate box if you want to give away the Pop.

I only get that if I select a specific time. If I select the box at the very top which is anytime after 4 hours or something then pickup is free.

2GB RAM isn't bad but 8GB storage is just not enough anymore given how bloated apps get

Only about 4.5 GB is available for apps. If you're planning to run a skinned Kodi build with widgets+typical apps like Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max etc, you'll run out of space quick

It is probably an incompatibility issue between the Chromecast and your phone. The Google Home app on some newer devices (e.g. my pixel 6, even though it is Google's own product ironically) does not work with the older version of Chromecast. You can try another device to set it up. I did the trick with my son's Chromebook.

I haven't used the Chromecast listed here, but I got a couple of these and have been very impressed especially considering they are Onn brand. My previous Chromecast devices eventually came to crawl and had to be replaced. It was recommended by others on SD and I have been happy.

Can back you up on this. Solid device and gets security updates semi-regularly. for $20 it's a bargain.

I think Walmart just announced that these devices are end of life and won't get any other updates. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
I have no idea but that would make sense since I have been unable to get one locally or shipped for the past couple of weeks. Perhaps Onn will come out with a new version???

Isn't there a USB micro to USB C adapter that will provide both data and power? (I assume the older Chromecast uses a micro. Correct me if I'm wrong.)
