You only get 3 months at the discounted rates, then they soar back to normal. It doesn't seem like much of a deal considering the normal rates aren't anything special.

Not when you have Google Voice. Pop in SIM, activate with a new number, start GV app & tell it to update forwarding number using the phone's assigned number. Done (minus some optional housecleaning like removing the old number to forward to).

In my experience, Google Voice number wasn't accepted by few services that would need it for OTP. It would classify as a VOIP and not accept it. Thats the only concern I had and would mean I'd need to change the OTP numbers of a few when switching networks. Didn't you run into it?

It also requires to be subscribed to auto renew for this offer to apply as well, something that hasn't been brought up in title of the deal.

Not if your phone supports 2 SIMs or eSIMs. Keep a dirt cheap tracfone/prepaid plan that only has minutes and text for OTP. The second sim/esim can be your regular data plan. Since you're on google voice, it doesn't matter what plan is being used for the second sim

is this a prepaid plan or a postpaid plan? What if I don't enable Auto Renew? Would it be $5 for the first month at the time of purchase and then nothing if I don't auto-renew? I want to try for one month how the lyca mobile service and quality is before I commit/decide for a longer time. If I don't enable Auto Renew, would they renew my service by themselves and charge me full price or would it be off service automatically?

Unless it's unlocked, you can't use a boost hotspot on lyca.
