The solar feature seems more gimmicky to me, because under the most optimal conditions, the solar only extends the battery life of the watch under nominal use by a dismal 15%, according to Garmin's own website. After trying a solar version for a month or so, the battery life extension for me was negligible, at best. Went back to sapphire.

The benefits of a sapphire screen, for me at least, are more tangible than solar.

I think BuyDig just had the sapphire version of this for ~$20 more.. WELL worth it for a much better screen.

That was the Fenix 6 Sapphire, no? This one is a Pro but not a Sapphire.

Sapphire IS the Pro with the addition of the upgraded screen.

See the third or forth picture here.

I am resisting the urge to buy this right now, but will tell you this.

Sapphire glass always. I have 2 kids who love to bang it on the floor repeatedly.

Buydig has the solar version and honestly will take that and use a screen protector. Sapphire is great but I would rather have the solar version than the Sapphire because I would use some kind of protection anyway for the watch because I am clumsy and keep bumping my watch to even doorways!

I'm a fenix fan for life as I have 5x plus , 6 and 7x saphhire solar and I literally love them all but if you have to choose between this and 7x then 7x is definitely worth it, atleast for me coz im a runner n i get more details on 7 as compared to 6.
P.S i paid $530 after credit card rewards and coupon for 7x saphhire solar ( only reason i could justify myself for that purchase ).

I thought visually there is no difference is just stronger glass that resist scratching better.
