Not trying to rain on the OP post. I think it's a fantastic price for its specs but between the two machines, I had webcam issues touchpad issues, the touchpad would "jump" randomly on the screen at times, the "drivers" availability online is marginal. In fact- the second one, last week the display kept blacking out on me so I am waiting for it to screw up again because I will have to make a warranty claim.
I also got a SquareTrade plan on this computer and at present, I do not feel that it will last the 2 years under the extended service plan. While my experience may differ from you - if you had to ask me, I would say "RUN" from this machine.

I feel like these are always $279… I think those other prices are inflated. They'd never sell at those prices…
It is a good deal for the price, but people like to crap on new faux Gateway stuff. I'd buy one if I needed one. Can't be as bad as the few loud people think.
