There may still be some left in stock locally for $249. Look for previous SD posts on this model

Going to return this after buying less than a week ago. The touchpad sucks for multitouch. Plus, the Lenovo deal at Target is cheaper, lighter, more powerful, and has an upgradable slot for memory. At $60 cheaper, I'll upgrade memory and storage as needed with the difference.

It's possible. We found a couple last week. Probably really hit and miss. The ones we found were labeled for a totally different store.

I ordered this laptop a few days ago based on a recommendation in the other Slickdeals thread. Personal experience has been good. Great value for money laptop for lite browsing, video watching and occasional office work...a tad bit heavy at 3.63lbs (see my post in the other thread). It's not 4lbs as mentioned in the product description.

I've observed that the there is a lot of love for the Target Ideapad deal for $270 and this is pretty much on par in my opinion. I was contemplating which of these two made better sense to keep and did the below comparison for myself. Sharing it in case it helps anyone else...Gateway vs Ideapad:
  • 11th gen i5 vs 12th i3 - more or less on par
  • 16gb ram vs 8gb ram - ~$30 to upgrade the Ideapad (ram is upgradable)
  • 512gb ssd vs 256gb ssd - ~$50 to upgrade to 512gb ssd on the Ideapad
  • IPS display vs TN display - TN display not preferred (personal choice)
  • 3.63 lbs vs 3.08lbs - Ideapad wins on this front
  • choice of colors on the Gateway was a nice touch

So from a price perspective, I felt like you are probably getting better value for money on the Gateway with straight out of box usage and better screen. However, if portability is the biggest concern, then I'd recommend going with the Ideapad and upgrade RAM/SSD as needed.

Would definitely recommend trying this Gateway laptop to anyone on the fence, especially with the extended holiday return period until end of Jan'23!

Had to drop an update on here. I bought this exact laptop almost a year ago and I've just submitted q warranty claim on mine. The battery has swollen up like crazy and literally popped the case open on the laptop. It was pretty much plugged in all the time and battery is internal so couldn't do anything about overcharging it. So yeah watch out for battery failure if anyone buys this.

Ordered and said next day delivery. Now delivery day is past and still shows as 'status pending'

Cancelled and got a HP that I like and was the same price.

Good to know thank you! Anything more you can mention about it? Need to take preventative measures if possible on my end since I just got this one.
