Oh noo, it's a Woot deal. Wonder what's wrong with it. Refurb? Or perhaps a pallet fell off a high shelf in some warehouse and the phones are no longer fit for sale through legit channels?

Either way I can't bring myself to shell out this much for a Motorola and the reviews for this model don't look too positive.

No reason to buy a moto phone. Expandable storage was the main reason for me to purchase moto devices. They don't keep the phones properly updated and their cameras are ass.

Bought this back in August from them for $500. Phone was brand new in box. Everything was in perfect shape.

I have it and the S22 Ultra. I actually prefer the Motorola for the clean Android interface and flat screen. I keep the S22 Ultra for the S Pen. This Moto also has a pen available (separately), but you have to use their special case to store and charge it. I prefer my wallet case.

Only downside is the camera. It isn't awful, but not as good as the Samsung for sure. Probably comparable to OnePlus.

I had this phone for a couple of months when my Note20 BSOD'd. For under $500 it's solid. It's not on the level of a flagship Samsung or Apple phone, but it's a decent alternative with really good specs. My Note crazily came back to life 2 months after going black, so I gave this to my nephew.

FYI, if you have an Amazon credit card you get the 5% cashback at Woot with it. I did.

Word of caution from someone who purchased this phone from the previous August sale. Phone came brand new in the box, sealed. Started to use the phone and loved it. SD 8 Gen 1 has received mixed reviews, but it works great on this phone. Doesn't overheat. Battery is good, but don't expect more than a full day in 5G. Screen is good with auto refresh settings. You could set it to 144hz. I did not notice major battery drains when doing so. Phone was great overall. HOWEVER, there was one big issue - phone would freeze and hard reboot when using the front camera and while on cellular data (not wifi). If your reception is spotty and you were on a WhatsApp call where the front camera was being used, it used to freeze up and reboot. Using the front camera while on cellular used to cause the phone to reboot as well. Tried resetting many times and the problem persisted. Finally I contacted Motorola directly and they replaced the phone. The new phone works fantastic and I have not been able to replicate the aforementioned issue. I believe they are aware of this problem and this batch from Woot does indeed have QA issues or other issues. First comment is right.

Perhaps my opinion on Motorola is unduly influenced by my experience with their cheap budget phones like the E and G series. Those phones are incredibly slow and have terrible camera quality. I'm sure this Edge model is in a whole nother league. Personally, I'm just going to wait for the Fed to crater the economy next year and see what deals materialize for the flagship Pixel models.

I bought this from Woot a few months ago for $499.99. No issues so far except random boot ups here and there. It's got pretty descent specs for this price but of course it has some notable downsides; poor hepatic feedback, gorilla glass 3, mediocre camera and obviously bad resale value

I got it, I love it. Bought the 2021 model first and ended up giving it to my mom. It seems like the camera was better on that model but the fingerprint reader on this one is much better. I use my hands fixing cars and I guess the cuts and scrapes affected it. This model never has an issue. Battery lasts for me, I don't live on my phone. Not a single issue yet...

I am with you, I don't understand why people like curved screens, they just plain suck. I have to use a case on my note 10 plus because otherwise just holding the phone trigger unwanted touches. Also, same as you, clean android I great, anything else is just annoying bloat.

I have been a Motorola fan for quite awhile. The moto actions (especially the "chop" to turn on the flashlight) is dope. But every phone I've had over the past few years develops some weird intermittent problem. Currently on my G100, after a while it will not complete a call nor receive a call, so I have to reboot. As a result, I'm jumping back to Samsung. Got into an S22 ultra for about $600 with the latest trade in promotion (that deal has been crazy good IMHO)
