$80 for 20" size is too pricy

Interested. Bought the dark blue set. Lmk how much you're thinking for the carry on. I'm in the East Bay but we can meet up if the numbers work.

Can someone tell me what is the reason all the luggages seem to have gone hardside? Besides the obvious one which is water resistance if you have your luggage sitting out in the rain the hardside will perform better than the soft cases.
I need a new set but am wondering about Samsonite. Two weeks about went to a Marshalls store to look at what they have, and saw a few Samsonite hard cases, most of them were dented badly. I was wondering if they are dented because Samsonite hard sides dent easily, or if those were factory damaged items and that's why they were on clearances.
I used to buy exclusively Delsey made in France at stores and they seem to be durable and solid. I don't see Delseys anymore.
Someone tell me, when you buy a hard side, is the weak point the zippers? What I mean is when you have a fully packed hard case, and an airline baggage handler picks it up to transfer it I have seen them do it they just "fling" and throw the whole case onto a transfer carrier. As the hard case gets thrown, the only thing that is holding the two hard shell together, is the clothed zipper in the middle correct? That is why many people put a belt around the hard side to reinforce in case the zipper tears?
Do they make hard sides with belt clips across the zipper?
Did any of those airlines measure? Or were they mostly worried about weight? I am flying Vietnam Airlines in January. Terrified of getting busted over a couple inches. Even the carry-on is slightly larger than what VA says they allow. Anyone?
