The button and fingerprint reader is literally the best in the industry so not bad. Just requires and takes up space on the screen bezel which could be used to fit a bigger screen like on the new iPad's or iPad mini
I have the Amazon kids fire tablet... it's ok but I find that half the apps don't work or crash. We have apple in our house (iphone, macbook, etc) and I'd like to use this for a KID's learning/entertainment.
Am I better getting this and getting kids apps / learning / etc on here or should I stick to the Amazon kids fire tablet?
My concern is the amazon tablet, for some reason, my kid can still click anything and it tries to download (very frustrating) even with my parental settings.

If everyone else is on Apple and you can afford this for kids then do it. It's a nice product.

Thanks. I don't follow Apple too closely but was wondering why the comment about the button being there or not.

I have 3 iPads for my 11,9,7 year olds (they started using them 5 years ago). Works great, including parental control. This iPad should last you another 5 years or so, and they old their value relatively well. Go for it.

Cheapest turns out to be Amazon with 5% Discover or other Cashback.
Tax at Microcenter seems more and their return window isn't as good as the others.
- Probably more memory
- Better, larger screen
- New unit, so warranty for you again
- Support for iOS 16 and beyond
So I would call it an upgrade.
