It's rumored that the pixel 8 will have the Tensor G3 which will be more comparable to the latest high end snapdragon chipsets.
So next year, the trade in of the P7 should be comparable.
Get the P8 from Google for what you paid this year + $30.
As a matter of fact, I'm typing on the P7 at the moment. I love the phone.
