don't do it.

we have gone through 3 optoma uhd30s, all bought new, and they all start having white dots (stuck pixels) within a year. it's not just the uhd30, it's happening to a ton of people using any of the optoma uhd projectors.

it starts off as a dot here or there, then soon turns into a constellation.

they acknowledge that it's a defect with the DLP chip that isn't easy to source or replace, and optoma will make you pay shipping to send it to them to be fixed.

i'm swearing off optoma for future projector purchases and i advise everyone to do the same.

That's some of the lowest response times I've ever seen on a projector.

Just wait for the $999 deal on a 4k 240hz 1ms projector. Should be any day now...

produce a 4.2ms response time at 1080p, 16ms at 4K UHD

That's a hard pass

Almost pulled the trigger, but no lens shift. Replacing an Epson 3700 since they no longer manufacture the bulb, and all 4 aftermarket ones I've tried have buzzed in eco mode.

Great deal! I was going to upgrade to what they are calling a Laser TV but this is tempting enough to hold me over until the Laser TV and screen prices come down. I love the long lamp life on the Optoma projectors, I have the HD27HDR with over 4,000 hours and the bulb is so bright that I am still watching it in econo mode and it is more then bright enough for my settings.

Any thoughts on this versus Optima HZ39HDR? Obviously this is 4k whereas other 1080p. Both have great input lag from what I've read which is huge factor for me gaming.

Fakespot: B and review counts coincide with time.

That said, 4.1 isn't very good and only 57% of reviews are 5 star.

Biggest complaints: no lens shift, very loud, and limited throw/unforgiving distance.

Regardless, amazing to see a product like this without 50% free product reviews.

Nice deal. I've been wanting a 4k projector for a while and been waiting for prices to come down on laser projectors, but this (bulb projector) is less than half the cost of a decent 4k laser projector, so I may have to bite...

What to do, what to do....

Get it. If I didn't already have an older model I would. Plus this unit does 3D

100inch at 4K gaming, you probably need a $5000 computer to run that. 1080 at 4ms that really low
