P.S. they did mess up big time with 3 way dimmer switches though. There are multiple issues with the first version that can't be fixed with firmware updates so make sure to buy the V2 version only. I already installed one and it works flawlessly.

Can they be manually controlled on iOS, and continue operating normally on scheduling without further intervention?

I have been doing this for years outside and inside with Kasa , hue, and Wemo. Also, Alexa or Siri allows for Manual voice control as well.

A purely resistive heater may work (will act as a giant incandescent light bulb), but anything with a motor and/or electronic controls will not function properly.
And why does that Matter? IIUC, Matter would support multiple ecosystems like Google/Amazon if one has both, and what other advantage?

I use the outdoor plug for my lights. I have a schedule set through the Alexa app. I can also turn them on/off with either the Alexa app or the Kasa app. There's buttons on the plug to manually turn them on/off as well. It's listed in the original post but here's the link:

I'm wanting to get the 'best' cheap cameras with alexa compatibility..
I've had great luck with the Eufy 2k indoor pan and tilt cameras, even using one outdoors for 3 years and going. It's under a semi covered part but it's still subject to rain and humidity and haven't had any issues. Even set it up with my alexa and smart plugs to turn on my bedroom lights and give an auditory notification when someone is detected at my front door or anywhere else!

Buy a motion sensor and use a routine to trigger the switch.
