I was slowly replacing my house switches for the last ~ 3 years with kasa devices and this is going to be my third and the last iteration after which the transition will be completed! By this point I own around 40 devices and I'll tell you that I had close to 0 issues with them. My garage switch randomly disconnected once and I had to reset it, thats it, no issues during 3 years of usage. The best part is that if you consider switching from alexa or google to home assistant OS - kasa devices use local pulling which means that all your devices will communicate over you local network and NOT through the cloud. This means insane response times and reliability plus no internet required to run automations. Highly recommend kasa products!
P.S. they did mess up big time with 3 way dimmer switches though. There are multiple issues with the first version that can't be fixed with firmware updates so make sure to buy the V2 version only. I already installed one and it works flawlessly.
Is there a good option for outdoor scheduled on/off for Xmas lights?
Can they be manually controlled on iOS, and continue operating normally on scheduling without further intervention?
I have smart plugs from Kasa, Wyze and Feit and the Kasa ones are the best. They are always working and work great with Google Home. The Wyze plugs don't work with Google Home anymore (did they ever?) and the Feit ones have WiFi range issues. Swapping out my Wyze and Feit smart plugs with Kasa now.

I have been doing this for years outside and inside with Kasa , hue, and Wemo. Also, Alexa or Siri allows for Manual voice control as well.
If I tried to dim a space heater, what are the chances I burn the house down?
A purely resistive heater may work (will act as a giant incandescent light bulb), but anything with a motor and/or electronic controls will not function properly.

We're gonna see a lot of sales on smart home products while manufacturers transition to Matter. It's gonna hard to resist, but it's probably a safer long term bet to wait for the Matter devices.
And why does that Matter? IIUC, Matter would support multiple ecosystems like Google/Amazon if one has both, and what other advantage?

I use the outdoor plug for my lights. I have a schedule set through the Alexa app. I can also turn them on/off with either the Alexa app or the Kasa app. There's buttons on the plug to manually turn them on/off as well. It's listed in the original post but here's the link:
How are the kasa cameras when compared to wyze or euffy etc??
I'm wanting to get the 'best' cheap cameras with alexa compatibility..
I've had great luck with the Eufy 2k indoor pan and tilt cameras, even using one outdoors for 3 years and going. It's under a semi covered part but it's still subject to rain and humidity and haven't had any issues. Even set it up with my alexa and smart plugs to turn on my bedroom lights and give an auditory notification when someone is detected at my front door or anywhere else!

My Wyze smart plugs have always worked with Google Home and still do, and are more customizable than my Kasa smart plugs. For example, I can set my Wyze plugs to automatically turn something off after being on for xx amount of time...can't do that with my Kasa smart plugs, have to set a timer manually each time.
Regret not buying more of the Wyze smart plugs when they were $5 at Home Depot a couple years ago. Have been buying Kasa smart plugs since they've been lowest price ($3.49 or less) through previous Amazon BF deals.
