Roughly 12 hours ago I opened one of the qualifying accounts with the promo code. This morning I received an email confirming my eligibility of the the $150 promo and confirmation of the details previously listed.

As a test I tried to open a new acct right after (but didn't actually open it), and it tells me I'm ineligible -- so it does seem to basically tell you if it'll work or not.
Did a cash management acct this time. Any actual use for that account? I mean, higher savings rate... anything? Normally I just put extra funds into a money market with the brokerage acct.

Once the account is created (you can have multiple brokerage and CMA accounts for instance), I renamed the account (via customize) so I know which account I need to fund.
It MUST be externally funded so this is new $$$ coming into Fido.
CMA is like a checking account so easier to write checks and move money in and out vs the brokerage account.

Did that, thanks. Worth it to ask Fido to close my original accounts so they don't just sit there?
There's no fees so can leave them sitting there, via their "customize" tool you can hide accounts to help organize things.
One nice perk is that Fidelity has zero wire fees.
I opened my 2nd CMA and got the confirmation the next day of the bonus registration so real simple for existing customers since they have all the info already.
Edit: I had to log in, but their system added the code automatically, so hopefully I qualify.
