Lutron just updated to make the Claro and Diva lines smart (with the hub). Rocker switches, instead of the Caseta-style buttons.

Rock solid performance, build quality and top notch support if needed. It is the gold standard.

Not to mention they are not a drain on WiFi.

Does anyone have experience using these without a neutral wire?
There is no neutral wire. They work well although we had a light / bulbs that didn't work well because of the ghosting of the light (never turning off) although Lutron sells a small electrical device for less than $10 that does fix this issue.

Don't buy these over priced switches. Tp link ones are a quarter of the price and work fine. The only benefit for using these is it only requires 3 wires.
TP link don't work with HomeKit as far as I know.

I am new to smart switches. How is Lutron different from cheaper alternatives like Kasa? I have a neutral wire.

Great deal. I'm remodeling my home and was buying the P-PKG1W-WH-R (w/ Pico Rimote) for 40-45 on eBay. In store was 31.99 but they didn't have any in stock.

Got 1 starter kit for 44.99 and a few of the 5ANS on/off switch for 24.99, and the Dimmer w/ Pico Remote for 31.99. I had them check the 6ANS & 6WCL but those were full price,

Any idea if the hub by itself is on sale?

I have both the Old Caseta and the new Diva Caseta, and I like the Diva a lot better. Easier to dim and even switch on and off.

But for $31.99 with a bonus pico remote (which is around $20), this is a good deal.

Will consider getting and putting the switch in less important rooms like closets, and will program the pico remote to make 3 way switches with important rooms like the kitchen.

Before I make the drive to Best Buy, even if it is not in stock, just making sure other people were able to order in-store and have them delivered at the same price?

You need neutral wire for those.

This is a good deal for those who DON'T have the neutral wire.

One of the bestbuy representative helped to place an order with 50% off on any Lutron switch of choice. The order is ship to my home directly.(This is at Bestbuy store in Austin)
Try talking to representative at the store.

I have primarily Kasa smart switches as well (except in closets) for a little over a year and have had maybe 5 issues with connectivity where I had to click the little restart button (WiFi gets wonky sometimes) but other than that, we love them!

Most things are on schedules like our front porch lights and hallway lights to come on at a certain time and it remembers last "on state".
Kasa switches are wifi, which is terrible for switches and lights, and mostly require cloud connection, which means the response is slower and unreliable and will eventually stop working when they shut their cloud down.

There are many common Kasa switches which had local control ability but firmware updates took that away.

Stay away from ANY smart switches or bulbs that are incompatible with Matter, either natively on the device or through the native hub. Zwave, Zigbee, and Thread protocols are much quicker, much more reliable communication protocols than Wifi for super-low-bandwidth devices like these and don't require a company's cloud service to stay running and accessible.

A lot of people have been burned by smart devices, especially Wifi ones, turning into dumb bulbs and switches because of companies shutting down their buggy, insecure, unreliable cloud services. It's the reason Smartthings is transitioning nearly everything to on-hub local control and automation and why most of the industry is moving towards Matter, which operates a lot like Apple Homekit but is open, let's you control devices with whatever platform you like as the years go on or even multiple platforms at the same time (Smartthings, Alexa, Google, Apple, Hubitata, Home Assistant, whatever). Don't saddle yourself with old, unreliable and outdated tech like Kasa!
