Nope $15 kohls cash on every $50 doesn't work on gift cards.
But you can buy $100 kohls gift card and get $20 from chase and use those $100 GC at later point to get better deal.
Under my Chase account I was able to add to my credit card the Kohl's 20% back. So if I buy something from Kohl's I should use my Chase card and not my Kohl's card?

Depends! If you have a 30% coupon that works only with Kohls card, then you should use that and save the Chase offer for another day.
What I did was used the Chase card on an item that can cannot have additional discount. In that case, the Chase card discount was a more meaningful discount.
20% back is a great deal, especially with the rebate items on sale at Kohl's. Only concern to keep in mind is that if Kohl's splits up your order, whichever part of the order gets charged first is the only one that will earn 20%.

Unlike most Chase offers where you keep earning cash back until the limit is reached, this one is one-time use only.
I was thinking of making multiple purchases, so I went to double check on Chase.com
Does it work in-store? Offer terms doesn't clearly say that. Anyone tried in-store?
I would assume so. I used it online today and you usually don't see the offer redeemed for several days. No email confirmation like the Amex unfortunately.

Gift cards are exempt from promotions....as are a long list of brands that they sell.
