Good price for add-on TracFone service. Another year, data, and minutes for $40 per line for the year. I have the G Power 4/64 from 2 years ago. Great phone. Add these as potential backups, unactivated, to the annual pile.

Why not just activate them as new lines for the reward points?

Can these phone can be unlocked use on TMobile?
It needs to be actives for 60 days and it should automatically unlocked since Verizon acquired Tracfone. If not it would have been one year of service and it will only take one million phone calls to tech support before they agree to unlock it.

I don't needs the minutes as much as I need the time. Could I activate minutes of use on one phone immediately and delay activating the second phone for 6 months to 1 year thereby getting 18 months to 2 years of service with this purchase.

You need an active line to get the 20K. You would be better off by creating a new account with a referral (5K) then add a line (10K) for a total of 15K. All referral codes now give 5K -- Tracfone got rid of the 8K for referrals.
What are steps to get those points? I'm an existing Tracfone user and have a few new unactivated TF phones from the similar previous HSN deals laying around and I constantly keep hearing people speak about these points, but I could not find any information about that at the TF website.

I wish these were Samsungs. After my Motorola G6 broken after just 2 months, I have been leery about Motorola smartphones.

I need to upgrade both my Samsung Galaxy J3 Orbit.

With an existing account, you probably won't get any rewards for joining. Log into your Tracfone account, then click on rewards at the top of the page or try this link:
https://www.tracfone.com/my-account/my-rewards
After joining, If a box opens up for a referral, you will have 14 days to add a code, but again not likely with an account that has been active for awhile. Once you have joined rewards, you can add the unactivated phones to your account for 10k points each. It's best to use chat to add the device to the account (without activating) to make sure you see the 10K pending because adding on the website was not always giving points.

I am wondering the same thing. Hopefully, someone will answer.

You don't have to wait to activate because Tracfone service stacks. If you have an existing Tracfone line with 3 months of service and don't care about unlocking or points, you can activate the first phone, click keep my number, and the new phone will be activated with 15 months of service, the 1500 min/text/data plus whatever you had remaining. Then, the next day, activate the second phone, click keep my number, and phone 2 will now have 27 months of service and the combined min/text/data.

If you want to unlock the phones or maximize points, the strategy is different.

Mine did not automatically unlock and when I called their customer rep, they emailed me some code or something like that. This was last year. The iPhones auto unlock. The androids I believe, do not.

Here is a suggestion -- Activate 1st phone using a referral from a friend. After you get the 5K points, activate the 2nd phone and get $10K points. If Tracfone combines the points on your account, you can purchase 1 year time with 12.5K points. If not, you can use the $10K points to purchase 6 months of time. Make sure you establish an online account to get these rewards.
