Honestly, wait for the Z6 III or maybe a Nikon DX version of the Z9 (A Z500 or sorts). I've owned the Z6 and Z7 II which share the same AF system so I speak from hands-on experience, not watching a bunch of YouTube videos experience. Even if it costs you another $1K over these prices I think the Z6 III will be worth it assuming it incorporates the Z9's eye AF and AF system.

The Z6/Z6II produces signature Nikon images but the AF system is well behind Sony and Canon at the same price point. I suspect the Z6 III will be announced early next year as it was rumored to be announced back in Sept/Oct. Nikon desperately needs to start filling out its lineup with it's best AF system to compete because the OG mirrorless AF was a good start but every Nikon Z body except the 9 is just too behind the competition now.
