I have the 14", 18", and this 16" model and this one hits the sweet spot for me. It feels just as light as the 14" but more peppy than the 18", along with the improved tensioning system and bar oil reservoir.

FYI - Amazon sells these used not new. Check reviews. Make sure there is NO chain oil residue in chamber as new saws have never received oil. I returned 3 used saws sold as new by Amazon trying to actually get a new one and Amazon eventually said they wouldn't send anymore replacements lol. Fine by me.

I have the old version of the 16 and the tensioner is not great.
It is still my go to chainsaw though for everything under 12" diameter.
I took down 5 trees yesterday with it and the chain did come off once.

If this is the newer version with double the RPM of the original, this saw is great. If its the original, its okay.

FYI - Amazon sells these used not new. Check reviews. Make sure there is NO chain oil residue in chamber as new saws have never received oil. I returned 3 used saws sold as new by Amazon trying to actually get a new one and Amazon eventually said they wouldn't send anymore replacements lol. Fine by me.

I have purchased 5 or 6 Ego products from Amazon and returned all. EACH ONE was an obvious used return that came thrown in a box without all the parts.

I have also received a used product when ordering from Lowes. After that I only do in-store pickup at Lowes or just go there and pull it off the shelf myself.

Just took a look at this - same price is correct if you order to pick up in store in 5 days. The saw at least for me is an online order only.

Just for fun I checked to have it shipped to my home. Shipping cost was $164.84 bring the total to $403.84 before sales tax.

No big deal - at least there is an Ace store 10 miles from me. Lowe's is 60 miles and Home Depot is 75 miles in the opposite direction.

Just bought the blower with 5ah battery with the intention of selling the blower later on, as I needed a second battery for my backpack blower. Now I'm torn between the two deals- I can use a 16" chain saw but battery is smaller. Do these batteries offer linear performance practically? Will 4ah offer 80% run time vs a 5ah, or shorter in reality?

I would say the 18"s system is second (same as old 16"), with the 14" tensioner being the worst of the 3. I do still use the 18" for larger stuff but this cs1610 is my go to.

Also never had problems with receiving used/returned ego products, but I only buy shipped and sold by amazon, lowes, or acme.
