i don't even care about the camera aspect so much but I feel like micro SD card slot itself does it for me (I'm not super up to date on phones so correct me if I'm wrong if some other common flag ship phones have it)

I have never met anyone who actually owned a Sony smartphone. Legit. I don't think I've ever seen one on display to try out. I have no idea why they're even still trying to compete.

they price their phones always $2-300 too high above the comparable samsung flagship. as much as i want to give the sony phones a shot i can never justify the cost.

Sony phones are great. Have owned the Xperia 5 ii, 10iii, and xz1 compact.

'Cause it's not a Pixel or an iPhone.

The flagship Sony phones usually slap pretty damn hard, they're just under marketed and exposed in the Android phone market with seemingly even smaller awareness than One Plus, not to mention Samsung or Google's devices, at least here in America

It seems like other companies are trying to sell their cloud services or make you pony up for more storage. It's why I haven't moved on from the S20 model on Samsung's side

Good specs and very very tempting just for the headphone jack, SD card support, and camera options.

However, if you are with TMobile, this phone is missing some important 5G bands: n71, n258, n260, n261. So it's missing a bunch of the mmWave bands that may or may not affect you depending on where you live. IIRC those bands are important for high density places with lots of buildings as they can penetrate for better signal. Also, very good to have in more remote places where some bands might not be able to reach. It looks like it might not work with VoLTE so buyer beware. Compare the network specs with your carrier before purchasing and check the Amazon reviews/questions as well.

I got a Pixel 7 pro last month and it supports these and many other bands just to give you an idea.

Also, note that Sony does not have the best of track records releasing timely Android updates. Very cool phone for the right user's needs though for sure.

had a sony phone back in the day... cant remember which one.. felt nice in hands but man everything else was hot garbage.. stick w/ something mainstream.. there's no need to be "different" about everything
And how many mainstream phones have SD, or a jack...? Content creators need storage.

I love my Xperia 5 III. If I were in the market for an upgrade I'd jump on this. The screen, battery, expandability, and headphone jack are great. Actually the headphone jack is my favorite feature. I have some very high end earphones and the Xperia headphone jack sounds excellent. The noise floor is undetectable and the sound quality is amazing. It's so superior to wireless headphones

Narrow form factor is amazing. I'm still using Xperia 1 ii and just ordered pixel 7 pro but I doubt I'll survive the size of Pixel and the curved screen.
