Argh I bought this for full price because I was excited about it to play with my kids and wanted to play something new without leaving the house (dad being lazy when watching the kids) so I paid $60 for it as a digital download. The reviews are terrible for good reason. Local multiplayer is horrible (limited game modes, limited levels, limited items that Lego players can use). For Lego which usually is an imaginative creative brand they could have made something amazing but this is a fail. Unfortunately I rather play Nickelodeon All Star Brawl which is another poorly reviewed game over this. I had high hopes (and not sure why it was hyped to even compete on the same level as super smash brothers) but it's just not that good. For $20 it's worth a shot or a stocking stuffer. For what I paid it's hot garbage. If you have an only child they will like it more. It is a has better online play (I don't know if you can talk during online play but their are creepsters out there and my kids are young so I don't like online games for them yet) then local multiplayer and not that much better to be honest. They did have a cool "brick or treat" themed game during Halloween. Hopefully they will keep releasing new dlc to make it better. Multiversus is better than both Nickelodeon/Lego Brawls and Multiversus is free but it has its cons too (new characters to play online cost money and the characters are for us older folks from the Warner Brothers world and your kids may not know them - Gizmo from Gremlins, Arya Stark from Game of Thrones, etc). For Multiversus local multiplayer they let you play with the characters that you have to pay with the season pass online for free but you NEED to have 4 players playing to do the free for all game or have the exact amount of players that are needed to play any offline game modes (Guess they need to make money some how). None of these are even on the same level of Super Smash Brothers. If you keep that mentality you may be happier than I was with my purchase. I can see why it was a success on Apple Arcade (which will probably show positive reviews) but who is playing local multiplayer on any of those devices? The one pro this does have going for it locally is you can play local couch coop with up to 8 players. Multiversus and Nickelodeon is only 4 players max. Just my two cents. I don't want no drama.

Have you tried "BRAWLHALLA"? It's free and seems highly recommended.

I haven't. I figured Multiversus was rebranded based off of it (because of comparisons I saw in online reviews) but I see the developers are different. Looks cool. I'll give that one a shot. Thanks!!

I'm glad it's helpful 😃 my friend likes it, and I hope you and family enjoy it!
I can concur with others, not worth full price. Fun mobile game that doesn't have the depth expectations of a Lego Console game. This one will drop further for sure, but definitely not worth more than $20 new. But the one nice thing is not being nickel and dimed for unlock / extras.

How'd you see that? "BRAWLS" --> "NSFW"?

Title has "NSW" before. I'm not crazy!
Paid full price, even at $20 would not buy again. This is a $5-10 title all day every day.
The local mutiplayer is very limited, and online multiplayer is chaotic and confusing for kids.
You can't unlock additional minifigs and characters without playing online multiplayer.
The graphics are great, but that's about it.
