Credit reports are a scam unless you are dirt poor. They didn't exist before the 80s. You take a small point hit for closing a credit card, and 6 months later you'll have a 150+ increase for no reason. It's stupid.

People's credit scores go down when they pay off debt. It's a stupid system you shouldn't give a shit about unless you're broke and under 300.

I just realized I had my credit frozen and didn't unlock it before applying and thus, did not get instant approval... anyone with ideas how to go about it? Should I unfreeze and re-apply or just unfreeze and wait to see if they will approve even though instant approval didn't go through?

Called the recon line posted above, 888-270-2127, temporarily lifted my transunion credit freeze, and got instant approval.

Same thing just happened to me, forgot to unfreeze my credit. Called the recon line 888-270-2127 and the agent told me to lift my Transunion freeze temporarily and got approval within a minute of doing that, with the $200 promo. Try giving them a call and doing a temporary lift on the freeze while you are on the phone with them

Dang it. Did not get immediate approval even though score 825, I'm 1/24. Already have Amazon store card. All three bureaus temporarily thawed.

If there is an issue, it could be that Chase sees I already have six cards with them.

Update: 12 hours later .. notified via email that it was approved

What if you are applying pre-approved by filling details and then when you are approved, freeze all 3 bureau , come to the page and click YES for apply & get approve for it?

Do you have to have a prime account to apply and get the promo? I have an account and was hoping to apply for myself and it worked and said gift card added to my prime account. If I apply for my wife separately will it work or will she get gift card in mail?
