I got instant approve. Maybe they check Amazon spend. I probably spend around $5000+ / year on Amazon
I doubt is that because I spend about what you spend a year buying from amazon. But, congrats to you, enjoy the $200.

Chase is pretty rough on credit. When I was 20 years old I had a charge off for an $1000 card with chase which I ended up paying off. That was about 20 years ago and to this day chase will deny me with a 760 credit score. Apparently if you ever have a charge off with them it's ban for life just something to think about.

I think this is happening to me as well, I was denied any Chase CC, and also, they barely approved me an checking account lol! I opened and have a checking account to start re-establish the relationship with them. I'm going call the reconsideration line and hopefully the rep helps.

I just dislike how all the co-brand (southwest airlines, amazon and others (which are beneficial for me)) are partnering with Chase, while I don't have any issues with other lenders/banks.

Everytime I Dona pre-qualification with this card I always get the same message that they aren't able to access my credit report.... I don't freeze my reports, so not sure why I keep getting this message?
Same with me, I tried to see if I am "pre-qualify" knowing that my credit score and debt ratio will not have any issues (besides opening more than 5 accounts in the past 2 years); but can't obtain credit report... but when I applied, it was instant approve, and will call the reconsideration line and see if they can help. I don't have a good relationship with Chase in the past, Lol... so maybe this is the reason why they don't want to do business with me haha.

You said you got an "instant approve" ? Just curious if I read that wrong... I have read that there are A LOT of people that are getting this message on other forums, so I'm hesitant to believe it has to do with past accounts with them, but I'd like to know why so many people get that message when doing research.

Oops! I meant to say "I was not instantly approve" and got a letter stating the reason why (having too much account open in the past 24 months, but I recalled reading that Amazon has request Chase to not have the 5/24 rules on their amazon card, otherwise Amazon will look for a different lender). I'm going called the reconsideration line to see if they will reconsider doing business with me again lol.

Yeah you're probably right. It's probably more to do with Chase Bank. I feel like anyone over 760 credit score or above should easily get it. Could be other factors but I saw they did a credit pull on me.

No brainer if you have Prime and shop on Amazon. Easy $200. Got the dreaded "Unfortunately…" message. Called the recon line (888) 270-2127 and got it approved in under 2 mins. I asked why, and the rep mentioned "it's a security measure, they would have called me in a few days if I hadn't called"

I was reading their terms and it sounds like it's only 5% earned for the account that you applied for the card with. Your second account would earn only 3%.

"When you earn 5% back at Amazon.com and Whole Foods Market: If the Amazon.com account through which you apply for your card account has an eligible Prime membership and your card account is loaded into that Amazon.com account, your card account will automatically earn 5% back. However, if you switched Amazon.com accounts, use multiple Amazon.com accounts, or your card account is loaded into multiple Amazon.com accounts, then your card account may not automatically earn 5% back and may instead earn 3% back. In such cases, you will need to confirm your card account number and select your card account on that Amazon.com account with eligible Prime membership in order to earn 5% back."

There were also terms that said if you applied for a new card using the same account, only the new card would earn 5%, while the old one would earn 3%.

" Your card account will no longer earn 5% back and will earn 3% back instead, if the Amazon.com account from which you applied for your card account or the Amazon.com account you confirmed and selected to earn 5% back:
(i) no longer has an eligible Prime membership;
(ii) no longer has your card account loaded in that Amazon.com account;
(iii) is closed;
(iv) is used to select a different card account to earn 5% back at Amazon.com; or
(v) is used to apply for another Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature card account that is approved and loaded in that Amazon.com account (that new card account will earn 5% back at Amazon.com)."
