For those looking to renew an existing subscription. Here are the rules from Quicken. So you can buy activation code now, and keep it until you are withing 6 months of the end of your current subscription. I am on the fence about pulling the trigger, though. If the activation code doesn't work next October when I go to apply it, I doubt seriously Newegg would give a rat's tail.

How long can I extend my membership plan?
A membership can only be extended in the last six months of a subscription term. Therefore, multiple terms cannot be purchased and used at once to extend a membership. Retail purchases: Activation codes expire 24 months after being generated.

That's exactly what I did, but I had to reconnect all accounts online. It worked, but was painful and not worth the savings IMO. Just my $.02

According to my Newegg history, I bought this very exact item exactly two years ago (sounds like they run deals around BF every year) and then applied it to extend my subscription. You simply have to wait until you are within 6 months of your current subscription's expiration time.

Those ones on newegg clearly state "For new subscribers only" several times. This one is fine. With newegg generally the shipped version will work for either, and the digital delivery is for new users only.

As long as it doesn't say "for new users only" it will extend. Usually the boxed version works for either and the digital key delivery is for new users only.

After ditching Quicken, and a brief fling with MS Money Sunset Edition, I switched to hledger (https://plaintextaccounting.org) and haven't looked back.

You are correct==just use it for taxes so 3 months is not a big deal. It's my way of rebelling against the yearly subscription. I haven't renewed for a year or 2 now. Hate to pay the yearly subscription. I have been with them when it was DOS --yeah that's a long time.

Debating on using Quicken Deluxe Vs Quicken Home and Business now. Just need to make sure you can have separate files so I can merge my Quicken Home and Business into it.

Given that you can typically get the boxed version for the same price as the new user download code, it doesn't seem to be worth the trouble.

Perhaps, but given that we've seen some sale prices that are better than others, I think this is the not as good sale price. I have another few months to go, so I will wait.

Quicken is nightmare for accountants. Do not use this for business purposes, and pay an accountant to do your taxes. . Your accountant will add additional hours to go through your records, you might as well give then your shoebox with all the receipts.
