ive had several of these and i would say the mx350 is good up until maybe age 6-7. The mx350 is really small. After that you really need the MX500 or MX650. The 500 and 650 have the same guts, just a different front wheel. The MX650 can easily hold adult weight and can be modded to go way too fast for kids Smilie

They have to market it that way so they don't get sued. Simple marketing.

Those are technically 18V batteries, based on average cell voltage. I think the hard thing is getting up to an appropriate voltage, or replace some of the electronics that require the 24V. Now, there are batteries that are 24V, like Kobalt, but not sure if that's really worth a different brand to get there.

Looks like what you need is the MX500 controller and plugs to mount your batteries in series to 36V. I guess there's something else you can add for a little more speed, something about removing/bypassing a shunt. Someone mentioned it in the comments.

I had some of the Metropolitan scooters I bought for $100 for the pair. I did get them to slowly haul my butt around, but if I could do this with my batteries, I would have probably used it over the scooter I bought. They both look goofy when you ride them.

I just bought 2 of the customizable decal version. Didn't even know these existed, but at least with my two Polaris 850 Sportsmans I've got one vehicle per kid.
