Honestly, I don't know the answer to that. I've been pretty happy with all the shark vacuums I've had. I have long hair and a lot of it, it would clog up the dyson I had all the time but I haven't had that issue with this one.

I would think so. I have this one and I use it on my upstairs carpets, though they aren't terribly thick, but it cleans those well.

Bought this about 3 years ago on sale for $99. It's awesome but feel like its power has diminished in the past few months. Still adequately works but it used to feel more powerful. I would buy again for this price
