Pros with AMD:
-Better Battery Life can get close to double the battery life compared to Intel.
-Lower Temps.
-Less issues with thermal throttling.
-Quieter Fans as a result of lower temps.
-Virtually Identical Gaming Performance since Intel CPU's start stealing power away from the GPU at max power.
-Cheaper

Cons:
-PCIe 3.0 vs 4.0. - Read/Write speeds capped at 4000 Mbps with Gen 3 Drives compared to 7000 Mbps with Gen 4.
-No Thunderbolt support.
-Fast but not as fast as Intel with productivity applications.
-Worse Wifi Card (Ugh Mediatek) - but can easily replace with a cheap $20 Intel AX 210.

Basically for gaming and everyday use you will not notice the difference.
Now if you do productivity, video editing, etc then Intel is better, but much more expensive and I don't really find any on sale for this price.
EDIT: Forgot to mention, it takes 64GB of memory no problem. Been rock'n 64GB for about a year now -- really convenient for gobs of VMs, or not worrying about running out, ever.

I bought this last year. I've rocked a 3-Monitor setup for work from home with it. I also game like crazy, nightly, every day.

I cannot recommend it enough. It's been solid as a rock. There was an initial faux pas at the beginning of its lifecycle where the firmware and Nvidia didn't get along very well and the machines lid reopening would cause a blue screen when waking from sleep.

We all complained simultaneously, and after a certain BIOS revision, the issue is solved.

This model isn't stifled by Max power limitations like many other 3060 and 3070 devices are. I can drive three monitors at 1080P, 165 Hz on all three just fine. (one HDMI, two USB-C)

I typically have every single port on the entire machine in use except for maybe the auxiliary jack for audio.

I also especially like that they didn't skimp out on the arrow keys being full size. I'm sure it would've made the keyboard replacement cheaper to have it all fit on a unilateral row, but they decided to have it dip down a little bit into the body of the machine. Love.

Purchasing the machine directly from Lenovo gave me a bunch of points that I could use. I used it on their $80-ish legion backpack, and have loved that as well.

I sound like a complete shill and a half, but I've just honestly been so pleased, I haven't even thought about upgrading — which, as a slickdealsaholic, is incredibly telling.
Was hoping one of the walmart Legion 5 pros dropped in price. This is right within my budget and I grabbed it. Only downside is it's last year's model, but hard to beat that price for a Lenovo with a 3070

Yeah I know, I was just trying to say this was the type of deal I was waiting for. I was waiting for either this one or the antonline ebay $1,400 legion 5 pro to drop in price. I'd rather get it from walmart though for the much better/easier return policy

Damn, do I order this or keep the 2022 model I ordered that has the 3060 for $1099?

The jump to the 3070 > the difference in in CPU, at the same $1,099 price. No?

How's this stack up against the ASUS AMD Advantage Edition that tends to drop down to the same price?

Also how long does the battery last with light browsing?

Don't forget chase freedom has 5% cashback this quarter for purchases from Walmart up to $1500. Tempting, but not sure if I need this laptop. I already have a decent gaming desktop.

Saw someone note in one of these deal forums that 5800H to 6800H was about 5% uplift. For a 3060 to 3070 upgrade. I'm in for one.

Followed the old SD credo, buy first, think about it later. I think it's a great deal though, for the specs. Xmas present for my Brother.

How long are we thinking this deal will be available? I like it a lot, but I want to see if actual Black Friday will have anything.
