Same. I guess that's a safety thing, so there isn't a risk of it being plugged in and someone tripping over the cord.

I think at the connector point where it's a quick release is the safety part though. But I guess short chord is also

Once you have used your oil for deep frying, leave it to cool down. Once it is completely cool, pour it through a muslin cloth, coffee filter paper or kitchen roll into a glass bottle or jar that can be sealed. With breaded and battered foods, reuse oil three or four times. With cleaner-frying items such as potato chips, turkeys it's fine to reuse oil at least eight times—and likely far longer, especially if you're replenishing it with some fresh oil.

Was going to post something similar. Yes I've reused the oil plenty of times already. When I'm finally done with all the gallons though I will be donating it locally to farmers to be used as Biodiesel.
